A Notch Above Any Other School I Applied to
A+
I applied for financial aid at half a dozen institutions, Case awarded the most by a sum of several thousand dollars and had a very simple process. I found it exceptionally useful how their website could quote you a financial aid award before the paperwork panned out so you could compare Case's aid to that of other schools you may have already heard back from.

Not Your Average Greek Life System
A
If you expect to come to Case for the typical Animal House experience, you should go elsewhere. Although there are parties within the Greek Life system, they are mainly off campus at closed parties. Greek Life at Case is centered around service, scholarship, and leadership. Case has a 365 days of service program where 365 days of service are split up among the chapters, and each chapter has to perform that amount of service. Chapters, especially the sororities, are very concerned with having the highest GPA, in fact, the average GPA of Greeks is higher than the all campus GPA. Many of the campus leaders in various groups, such as student government or the residence hall association, are greek, and there are numerous opportunities to have leadership positions within your own chapter or Greek Life as a whole. I never thought I would go Greek before I came to Case, but it has changed my entire college experience and allowed me to reach my potential as a leader in the college community.

My experience has been very positive. There aren’t many places where one can find so many opportunities and activities to participate in. The research opportunities are great and there are internships galore. Sometimes it’s hard to pry students from their computers, and there’s your typical range of mediocre to excellent professors, but overall it’s a great school. |

Case students are uniquely...
Case students are uniquely independent and succeed on many different levels and in many different ways. The academics are unquestionably good, but a general lack of spirit and prevailing get-in-and-get-out attitude makes it difficult for student leaders and students interested in areas other than their major to make any changes. The college experience for many Case students has little more meaning than to study. Though this makes perfect grounds for massive change over the years, it can be very frustrating for dynamic and ambitious leaders. |

It’s ironic that, despite having one of the most technologically integrated campuses in the world, the majority of students and faculty remain painfully disjointed. This creates a campus that doesn’t quite live up to its potential, but which has so much opportunity and possibility that any independent self-motivated student would find this place attractive. |

I really love Case in many ways but dislike it in others. The profs are great, there are a wide variety of classes and the people are nice, but often too shy. My main complaint, being a guy, is that there is a real lack of attractive women who have a good head on their shoulders. There are tons of jobs on campus and off campus—on campus minimum wage is over $8 an hour! Many people complain that Case is somewhat expensive, but there is plenty of money to found here if you know the right people. Case’s diversity never ceases to amaze me and I really enjoy the conversations that can be had. |

Well, I like Case in certain ways. Generally, the social life is boring but that made me find interesting friends and find fun things to do in the city. I had a blast my four years but I had to make that happen. It is not easy and is very much dependent on the kind of people you make for friends. |

For girls, Case is heaven. There are so many guys and so few (attractive) girls. If you are an attractive girl, you will have every guy hanging on you. |

If you want to go to Case, you...
If you want to go to Case, you will benefit greatly by leaving behind any assumptions or high expectations. Your education is what you make of it, and Case provides a host of unique opportunities that you probably cannot find anywhere else. If you’re smart, resourceful, and motivated, Case is a good environment to get a head start on a successful life, whatever you want that to be. |

The dorms are all nice, and most are recently renovated. The dorm furniture is decent, too. I would recommend trying to get into Storrs, but that’s just because that’s where I used to live, and there were a lot of cool upperclassmen. It’s the closest dorm to the dining hall. |

Okay, the guys and girls both have...
Okay, the guys and girls both have cute little sayings about each other. Guys say that CWRU stands for ‘Case Women R Ugly’ and girls say that ‘The odds are good, but the goods are odd,’ because it’s like three guys to every one girl, but I guess there’s too many geeky computer-programming majors to matter. There are like five hot girls at Case, so if you’re hot, you can have pretty much any guy you want. |

The professors are great. They really care about the individual, and there are plenty of opportunities to meet with them outside of class. |

Being Greek I will tell you that...
Being Greek I will tell you that Greek life definitely does not dominate the scene. I was completely against joining a sorority when I first came to Case but I think it is one of the best things I did because there are so few girls at Case and now I have not only a great friendship with a ton of the girls, but a lasting bond with them. |

You Can Find Whatever You're Looking for.
C
Yes, there are ugly people at Case. There are also hot people at Case. If you want to date the next Bill Gates, he's here. Indian princess? Probably. Harvey Milk? Hell yes. Everyone is here, you just have to find the one your lookin for. Just be sure to avoid the jerks and freaky lookin chicks.

My experiences with the teachers have been great. They know who you are and are available whenever you need them; they actually want you to come and talk to them. They want you to do well and are willing to help you out. |

The girls, really, are pretty cute for the most part. Mind you, I’m in the engineering school, so most of my classes have six guys for every one girl. |

It’s a pretty okay school; the big complaint is that there aren’t enough parties or social things, but as long as you have a few friends, you can make your own fun, and then it’s not so bad. |

Case has Athletics???
F
Probably what you are thinking. Allegedly, the football team has been undefeated for the last 3 years and arent afraid to brag about it (woo hoo Division 3 athletics mind you). Case has sports but no one really cares about them or even knows they have them. Just the actual football, basketball, and baseball players act like total douches and mock jocks when really they arent anything. They are just as lame as the nerdiest student at Case just they wont admit it

Yeah good luck with this
F
This school is almost as anal about parking as it is about plagiarism. They ticket people at the most obscure times everyday, even when its raining or snowing really bad. This forces you to have to pay the ridiculous amount of money for parking in order to not get a boot on your car. Basically if you want to have a car (which is highly recommended since Cleveland public transportation sucks), be prepared to go through hell and back and pay an arm and a leg for it.

Do not Come to this school
F
Never ever ever come to Case! This school sucks. Big mistake coming here. There is literally nothing to do ever. The people are just mindless drones who only care about academics and nothing else. The food here is disgusting. The city of Cleveland sucks since its so dangerous and the weather is depressing. Insect infestations everywhere. Classes are harder than necessary. Most professors are very judgemental and generally unwilling to help. Too many foreign professors for the important classes or grad students. Basically coming here is a waste of time and money since its not worth it at all

There's plenty of off campus housing but it's not particularly good and not any cheaper then on campus housing. Also, it's extremely far from campus and not very safe to get to after dark

Labs Available Usually Full; Wireless Crashes Frequently
C
While there is wireless internet all over campus, it is frequently (twice a month) down for extended periods of time. This can be very frustrating. Additionally, while there are plenty of computers for public use, it can be difficult to find one that is available.

Little Pressure
A
Drug visibility is close to none. There is always going to be that group which does it, but its not very large and its very easy to avoid. Alcohol is around if you want it, but there is in no way pressure to drink. The party and drinking scene is only a very small fraction of what there is to do on a weekend night, so its easy to choose something else. But its also easy to choose that if you want. Alcohol is definitely more visible when with older students because they are of age.
