College Prowler Take

Cleveland is located very near to Lake Erie and thus experiences the lake effect of a lot of cold and snow. One winter, Cleveland experienced over 100 inches by April. Snow and rain-proof shoes and a very warm winter jacket are essentials. In the spring and summer, Cleveland weather takes on a schizophrenic temperament; weather forecasts are virtually useless. The humidity is awful during late summer, but if you’re from Georgia, Alabama, or anywhere in the Deep South, this will be a walk in the park in comparison.

Two or three notorious students have been seen in shorts and slippers all winter long, but such attire is not advisable. Snow livens things up the first few falls, but after 60 or 70 inches, it gets old. It’s a good idea to just keep a positive attitude about the weather, make the best of it, and just deal.

I’ve seen it rain, snow, and hit 70 degrees all in the same week. Be prepared for anything.

Once Lake Earie Freezes Over, Mother Nature's Baby Gloves Come Off

C-

The weather over the Summer and early Fall is fantastic! However, things take an abrupt change for the worse in the Winter where awful conditions are abound. This is especially awful for those with the misfortune of living a long distance from their classes (read: freshmen)

Midwestern Weather at Its Finest

B

I have lived in midwestern states my whole life, so I know that there is no such thing as bad weather, just bad dressing. However, it would be nice to live in a warmer environment, but cold does have its advantages

If You Don't Like Snow...

D+

If you don't like snow, then seriously, don't come here. There are always campus shuttles that can take you to your classes, but it gets reallyyyy cold here in the winter so definitely take that into consideration if you think you want to go here.

All Four Seasons, but Be Prepared

C

It's nice that we have all four seasons but you should always be prepared. Cleveland weather is always a guessing game so I always have an umbrella and wear lots of layers. The grounds crew is really good about clearing the sidewalks but that means that classes are almost never canceled. On the other hand, when the weather gets warm, every one loves to go outside for classes, lunch, pick-up basketball or soccer games, etc.
