I do plan to have one, because I am going into a health profession so I would like to see what I will be in for. No I do not have concerns.

Athletic events at Catawba are certainly not as huge as they are at a large university. However, the Catawba Indians have their fair share of school pride. Alumni and parents attend football games and tailgate before the games. the student section is always rocking to support any athletic event whether it be soccer, baseball, football, basketball or volleyball. Being a part of the marching band and pep band, I am always right in the middle of the "Catawba Pride" that is being shown to support our teams.

Catawba College just started charging students living on campus a parking fee. It is minimal though. Since our campus is small, any parking space will provide you with access to anything on campus. It is not necessary to have a car while living on campus. There are many shops and restaurants that are in walking distance. Plus someone with a car is always willing to take you along when they are out running errands.

One of the things that has impressed me about Catawba College is campus events and activities. The "Wigwam" organization is responsible for hosting numerous events throughout the year, such as Catawba Palooza in the spring. These guys go all out to make these events a major part of student life. At the Palooza, events are held outdoors and there are carnival type rides, food, music, and stations like a dress up photo booth and tons of prizes. Theater and music are also a big part of student life on our campus. In fact Catawba is known for it's Theater Arts department and the productions are amazing. Plus students, whether they are majoring in music or not, can perform for their peers once a month in the student union.

While attending Catawba College, I have had the opportunity to continue my passions and interests, as well as pursue my undergraduate degree. In fact, given that Catawba is a private school, my passions have allowed me to earn scholarships in music, marching band, and theater. Therefore, I have grown in the area of arts that I love, but continue to focus on my studies and work toward my degree. It hasn't been easy at times, managing all these responsibilities, time management is key. However, I have grown as an individual, met wonderful people and faculty, and really felt like an active part of my school.

It depends on the dorm, but for the most part parking is pretty decent.

North Carolina weather is amazing! It's not too hot, not too cold.

On campus there are many parties and activities supplied by the school. Plus Charlotte is only a 30 minute drive away.

People at Catawba college don't really use too many drugs. There are always those people that do but they are very few. Alcohol is the main thing.

Health & Safety:
I haven't felt unsafe here. Its a small school with not very much traffic by strangers.

Higher level science courses are not available every year or by more than one professor.

There are a variety of majors available but since this school is not a science school and lack of qualified instructors, higher level science courses are not available every year.

I am a Sociology Major. I really enjoy the teachers, the classes, and the interesting topics we study. I have enjoyed seeing the world in a completely different way. The main thing to remember in Sociology~~ have an open mind, don't be afraid to have an opinion, but have a REASON for that opinion. Also, don't be afraid for your opinion to change. Also, the Sociology major allows for so much more electives, so you are able to explore so many other avenues and learn more than just your major.

There is a lot of diversity at the campus, and its no always just one race that gets in trouble

The baseball team is the best sport on campus ratings wise, but the other sports are always fun to watch.
College Sophomore 2013-05-08T17:03:38Z
The nightlife at the school is great for the most part. From playing sports to cookouts and bonfires, there really is no reason that you should be bored.

When it is pouring down rain it is difficult to move around campus, however is not something that hindered you to bad.

The grounds are always clean and kept up. I really enjoy being around campus and the student center is always busy and such fun. We have such classic traditions that occur on campus throughout the day and on the weekends. Wigwam's are such fun and very interactive with friends and family.

The fees are not huge, and the security assures that those who are not welcome are not staying very long. Parking is cheap and something that is really easy to find as well.
College Senior 2013-04-30T01:10:23Z
The relationship between the students and teachers is great. You have a ratio of 16 to 1, this makes your setting simple, and you can talk to the professors like a normal person, you are a name not a number!

Guys & Girls:
Many different people. Mainly divided into three subgroups... athletes, theater/music enthusiasts, and locals people. Everyone is very nice and easy to get along with. Most stay within their subgroups at social events, but I found it fun to intermingle with all groups.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
