Health & Safety:
I haven't felt unsafe here. Its a small school with not very much traffic by strangers.

Higher level science courses are not available every year or by more than one professor.

There are a variety of majors available but since this school is not a science school and lack of qualified instructors, higher level science courses are not available every year.

I am a Sociology Major. I really enjoy the teachers, the classes, and the interesting topics we study. I have enjoyed seeing the world in a completely different way. The main thing to remember in Sociology~~ have an open mind, don't be afraid to have an opinion, but have a REASON for that opinion. Also, don't be afraid for your opinion to change. Also, the Sociology major allows for so much more electives, so you are able to explore so many other avenues and learn more than just your major.

There is a lot of diversity at the campus, and its no always just one race that gets in trouble

The baseball team is the best sport on campus ratings wise, but the other sports are always fun to watch.

The nightlife at the school is great for the most part. From playing sports to cookouts and bonfires, there really is no reason that you should be bored.

The grounds are always clean and kept up. I really enjoy being around campus and the student center is always busy and such fun. We have such classic traditions that occur on campus throughout the day and on the weekends. Wigwam's are such fun and very interactive with friends and family.

The fees are not huge, and the security assures that those who are not welcome are not staying very long. Parking is cheap and something that is really easy to find as well.
College Senior 2013-04-30T01:10:23Z
The relationship between the students and teachers is great. You have a ratio of 16 to 1, this makes your setting simple, and you can talk to the professors like a normal person, you are a name not a number!

I usually bring my own food, yet the food when eating is usually good.

Guys & Girls:
Many different people. Mainly divided into three subgroups... athletes, theater/music enthusiasts, and locals people. Everyone is very nice and easy to get along with. Most stay within their subgroups at social events, but I found it fun to intermingle with all groups.

Not much selection. Charlotte is the closest place for a true club/bar atmosphere and that is 45 minutes away.

During the week and Friday nights there are many events to attend. The weekend become drab when most people who live close go home for the weekend.

There are very few public transport options near Catawba. Taxis are available if you call, but there is no regular transport options.
College Sophomore 2013-03-17T20:48:14Z
The computer labs at Catawba College are plentiful and accessible 24/7. During midterms and finals they do get very crowded but not enough so to cause problems. Plus the amount of pages allowable per student per semester are more than enough to print all papers needed for classes. The wi-fi is a little slow at times, but they are working on improving it.
College Sophomore 2013-02-26T19:41:29Z
I am a biology major and it is very fun. We learn lots of differnet things and the professors and advisors are very helpful. The ciriculum is challenging but if you prepare you will be fine. Catawba sets up mock interviews and during your senior will help you find internships.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
