Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Students are strongly recommended not to bring a car to school because the Metro is so easy and convenient. Parking in Washington, DC is annoying, between actually finding a spot and then paying an arm and a leg to utilize it.

The same goes for CUA parking, more or less. Parking has been a little scarce, given that the undergraduate student population is growing and construction has diminished space for parking. Meanwhile, a parking permit will cost a pretty penny, usually several hundred dollars. Therefore, to make it short and sweet, do not bring your car because it is not worth it.

Don't Need One, but Off Campus Kids Have Them

People don't really have cars who go here. There's a metro stop on campus so that takes care of most transportation. When students move off campus they often do get cars, and that's very simple and easy. Lost of space available.

Living in DC You Definitely Don't Need a Car

From my experience at CUA, I have learned that you can definitely manage without having a car. The metro stop is just a short walk away and is very affordable. Since you are living in a major city parking can be a pain, but the majority of students choose not to bring a car to campus due to the excellent local transportation.

Parking is an absolute joke.

Good luck trying to find a parking spot at Catholic. You're better off not having a car at all. It is practically a miracle to find a spot anywhere on campus, let alone close to the class you're taking. The school is robbing everyone blind by charging so much money to have a parking pass when they quite obviously DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH SPOTS PER PERMITS. And god forbid you don't buy a permit- DPS will follow your car around and give you $25 tickets every time that you park which will eventually add up to them booting you're car which is always a lovely surprise. An awesome example of this is the parking lot outside of the largest dorm on campus (Opus) which holds about 400 students. Their parking lot has 15 spaces. 15. Now how on earth does that make sense? Oh right it doesnt.
