The College community is very accepting of students of different sexual orientations. Out There is a student organization that promotes the acceptance of the LGBT community on campus and hosts various events throughout the year for members of the LGBT community and their straight allies.
As with many college campuses, Cedar Crest's student body tends to lean toward the liberal side. However, there are students on both ends of the political spectrum, and when politics is a point of discussion, students are accepting of each other's views and are more than willing to discuss political issues with intelligence and understanding.
Students come from a variety of economic classes, and there is no visible division among students based on their financial situation.

Minority Clubs on Campus
Students have formed a variety of clubs on campus that address the needs and celebrate the accomplishments of minority groups like Latin Americans and international students. These groups are visible on campus and work to increase the cultural understanding and atmosphere of acceptance that is characteristic of the Cedar Crest community.
