Health & Safety:
Since the school emphasizes AND enforces treating everyone with dignity, honor and respect, it is very rare for anyone to feel potentially in danger, although partying (drinking/drugs) can still be found among some students. I am not sure if the college has any history of violence, although there was one or two instances of robbery and there was some creep driving around offering to pick up girls, but even then the students are taught to recognize such danger and took the proper measures.

I only say it's the worst because there are no transportation options whatsoever. However, this is also not a huge inconvenience since everything is within walking distance. Plus, transportation (specifically car-pooling where the driver may or may not get paid) is provided if, say, someone needs to get to the airport or go on some small excursion with other students.

While there are plenty of dorm options, some of the dorms have smaller rooms than others, or some dorms have a reputation for being very rambunctious. It is easy to choose which dorm you would like as long as you do so early on, although the distance of the dorms from the buildings (where the location of classes vary) is sometimes problematic.
The social atmosphere is not one that I like, though, because most of the students are extremely loud and obnoxious, and they won't quiet down no matter how many times you ask them (only a couple do quiet down), so it may be midnight or 1:00am before you can finally sleep peacefully. The school tells the students to show respect to others wherever they are, including the dorms, but obviously the dorms don't count in the minds of many students.

The weather is all right most of the time, although winter time, especially after it starts snowing, is a bit of a problem. sometimes the snow slows the students down in walking to their classes since there are many buildings across the campus, generally a fair distance away from the dorms. My school also has a lake that most students have to walk by, which is the coldest area on the campus, so the students must be bundled up very well so that the wind chill plus the temperature of the water's surface does not equal a freezing hell. Everyone is thankful that the staff finally decided to leave the fountains OFF during the cold weather, so now the students will not get sprayed walking by the lake either.

Many of the students may complain about the food, but frankly the food is here is MUCH better than what is served at other schools. While there are many choices available, occasionally it is hard to find a more healthy option because sometimes the cafeteria runs out of certain supplies, but there are alternatives available even if that happens.

While my school definitely has a good environment, the students seem to act the same or are hypocritical in their "religious" beliefs. There are many students who are not like this, but most of the people I see do not have the good character qualities that should be found in members of the main religion here.

There are pros and cons to every school.

Cedarville is know for its high academic standard and yes it is very high the teachers expect you to do your best. Most teachers give a decent amount of homework but nothing that isn't manageable. I am in the music program and there are so many ways to get involved and do other thing with your playing, like pep band symphonic band, orchestra, jazz band and many more. The professors are always there and willing to help you. The school has many many opportunities for internships and jobs they often hold career fair for just that.

Cedarville is in the middle of nowhere and the town is very small and because it is a Christian College you are not allowed to drink so the school makes up for what others might do by hosting lots events on Campus.
Thursday night live is held once a month and has a lot of different acts. There are also many recitals and concerts on campus along with comedy shows and ALT nights where they show movies and have games and themed activities.

The University is actively working to become more diverse and more comfortable for minorities, but there is still a lot of progress to be made.

There are computers everywhere for email access. There are also several nice labs. You can request to have a university computer in your dorm room as well.

The only bad thing is the long, cold summer. Thankfully the campus is small enough that treks through the snow are really not that bad anyway. The fall and spring here are gorgeous. The fabulous landscaping helps you enjoy each season.

The process of getting into the Early Childhood Education program was very easy! Cedarville has an Introduction to Education class. This class will prepare you for what is needed to get into the program. Basically, all you have to do is score high enough on the Praxis 1 exams.

The dorms are all fairly nice at Cedarville. The cleaning staff comes once a day Monday-Friday to clean the bathrooms. There are different dorm types available: hall, townhouses, and group. My favorite dorm so far has been Wiletts. Maintenance will always come if you request them to fix something. The bathrooms are clean and the showers are individual. The only downside to their housing is the difficulty of getting off-campus. Only a few are selected each year out of the many who apply.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
