The Greek scene at Centenary definitely dominates the nightlife on campus. There are no College-owned apartments, and most students live on campus, so the frat houses are where most students go to party. The houses are not technically on campus, so alcohol is allowed at the houses. At the beginning of the fall semester, Rush is all over campus. Otherwise, you’ll only really experience the Greek scene if you seek it out. The houses are located directly across the street from campus. Though joining a Greek organization is a good way to make friends, it isn’t the only way. It’s easy to get to know classmates at Centenary because of the small size and the strong community atmosphere in dorms. Though Greek life is the biggest part of the party scene on campus, joining is not the only way to make friends and have fun. Many of the frat parties are open to anyone on campus. A few of the parties are exclusive, but Greek members don’t usually seem too snobbish about it.
Greek life doesn’t usually feel too overbearing. The fraternities and sororities often have programs to raise money for charity. Sometimes, though, parties can be like the cliché frat party, with togas and binge drinking. Some frats have gone under probation for drinking violations. The bad thing about the frats holding the only parties is that non-Greeks may feel somewhat excluded.

Greek life is a great part of the Centenary experience. Many students are involved in Greek life, but if Greek life is not your scene, that's okay! Greek life does not exclude non-Greek members when they have social events, but being a part of Greek life is a blast!

Almost half of Centenary is involved in Greek life. Fraternity houses have parties every once in awhile, sometimes every weekend. Everyone is welcome down at the houses, it doesn't matter who you are.

Greek life definitely dominates part of the social scene, though it can be avoided if one so desires. Greek life is huge on campus, which almost stopped me from attending Centenary. But you don’t have to be part of the Greek system to hang out with Greeks or to appreciate the social opportunities they provide. There are two sororities and five fraternities. They are far from typical; the Greeks, in most cases, are truly leaders on campus, rather than stereotypical ‘drunken frat boys’ or ‘sluts.’ |

Greek life is the social scene. Pretty much nothing goes on that the fraternities or sororities aren’t involved in. The same people in the fraternities are the ones that are active in other campus groups. |

Greek life is pretty big at Centenary, but you don’t have to be in it. You can go to their parties without being in the fraternity/sorority. Plus, there are other parties all over town. |
