The Criminal Justice progam is amazing. The professors have real world experience and are more than willing to help you in any way they can. The work load is bearable though it can be hard at times. Internships and job opurtunities are awesome.

The facilities are pretty good. They have computer commons, work out room, gym, theatre for the performing arts and other events, and eating commons where students can socialize and fill their stomachs.

The student body is filled with many different people. Some are fresh out of high school, some have family, military personel (veterians), older people that are coming back to further their education. They are always up for making friends and hanging out as well as getting study groups setup so they can get good grades so they can get where they are going.

The campus has awesome resources and the people are always willing to help.

It works well Most of the time but there are times where the system goes down or when an instructor has trouble logging on.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
I was enrolled in a big name school, online courses as well, and ran into problem after problem with technical difficulties. The tuition was outrageous, but I thought it would be manangeable, because they told me I was eligible for a $9000.00 single mother scholarship they offered. Even with that it didn't cover half if my tuition. At my current school, the tuition is very reasonable, and there are dozens of scholarships offered, I will not have to go into debt to better my future.

I am very grateful that all of my professors are easy to get ahold of, it doesn't matter if its about an assignment or the syllabus. I never feel like I am alone or on my own, my classmates are also very easy to get ahold of as well. I enjoy online classes, and will always recommend Central Lakes College to anyone wanting to further their education, career, and even lives.

I am a single mother of three, with my oldest being 12, and the you gest being 6. With the difference in ages the online courses give me the flexibility I need to be the best double duty parent I can be. It is very easy to navigate the d2l website, and I know right where to find things, as they are marked clearly.

I know they have a career center but its not well advertised. They don't really push it across the students.

I took a few online classes. I knew i was in for a hand full, but to my surprise it was great. The teachers made it clear and to the point. Online classes allowed me to balance my schedule due to my sports activities. Registration was simple and the instructors email you when new assignments are due and stuff that is coming up. Great way to take responsibility and learn time management. As for peer to peer interaction we had to discuss several topics and are peers commented on are response. It was very interesting because many lived in a different state.

The Staples Central Lakes College West Campus has several simulators. I have seen someone operate the one bobcat simulator, it has the seat that's found in the bobcat with every button that the actual machine would have. They have calibrated the simulator to have the same movement as a regular bobcat, they also have simulators of other machines accurately calibrated.

I don't know, I actually go to staples. I couldn't find it on the list so I said Brainerd. It's the same school, just one is on heavy machine operating, the other is an actual college. I haven't spent much time at either campus yet.

has a great tutoring program, all kinds of help if you just ask.

Has diverse clubs, gym, intermural sports and regular teams- but no meal plan.

most of the students that are in the technical programs are committed to a specific area. Others are just "trying out college" and still others are working class people with full time jobs.

I am pursuing my A.A.S. in Business Management, and the courses that are requirements, are very helpful. I learn so much about owning or managing my own business, it will definately give me an edge over future competitors. I learn about every aspect of the business field, from expanding my business globally, to learning about different cultures, and how they conduct business. There are so many things that I believe that the courses offered really give me the knowledge needed to ensure my success.

I have taken online classes with one of the big name schools, but had so many difficulties with technology, and wasn't able to get late work excused even though it was due to the school network. Since I have been at CLC I haven't had any difficulties with the program, or not being able to turn in work on time due to a technical problem. There are many computer labs on campus, as well as, the library, and different study stations, you don't really need your own computer, unless you are going to be taking online classes.
College Senior 2013-05-29T18:41:04Z
I have talked to so many people that have gone to different schools that had a difficult time finding employment after graduation. I have also talked to many CLC graduates in the area that have found work very easily on their own, or using the job placement program that you are automatically offered. I have done research for the field I am studying and pursuing which is Business Management, and there are many manager training programs that are offered for recent graduates, that help you get work experience, before you just jump right into it, after you graduate. The area really works well with the graduates from CLC, along with the current students as well. I am not worried about finding work after graduation, I am very confident of the skills, that CLC is equiping me with, I couldn't ask for more from a school.

Our campus is very inviting, whether it's studying with friends out in the courtyard during the warmer months, to hanging out playing x box 360 in the Student Life Center Work Study Office. There are even xbox 360 games, and even board games you are able to checkout. There are many clubs that are co-ed, or non-competitive, as well as the usual sports offered at most colleges. There is always something going on, and if there isn't anything scheduled, then you can just ask people what they are up too, and you will come up with something to do.

I love my school, and the town it is in really has a hometown feeling. There are so many activities around the area, that you are able to get a student disount with your student i.d. I love that you can join a group that are conversing in the halls, or cafeteria, and they just open right up, and are interested in who you are, as well as, what you have to say. I am a single parent, and there is such a great support system with our Meta-5 program that is offered, there are so many other parents that you can talk to, and they know what your talking about, and offer advice, or even just a ear to listen. My school has the whole package, great school, awesome classmates and faculty, as well as the city it's in, you can go into any business, and get a warm welcome. Totally worth checking into!
