I am currently pursuing my BS in Criminal Justice and Psychology-taking strictly online courses for now.

The online instructors are very knowledgeable, with intense classes. The instructors push students to do their best and yet are very accommodating when need to be.

When dealing with financial aid, I feel the process should be simpler-by having electrinic forms available on the student portals for students living off campus. However, CMU's Financial Aid is always willing to help and answer questions when needed.

If I had to did all over again, I would choose to take classes at CMU. The advising staff and instructors have been very pleasant and knowledge-willing to help whenever needed and very understanding of emergency situations.

Central Methodist Unversity is located in St Louis, MO-which is known across the country for it's famous attractions-such as the Arch, St Louis Zoo. St Louis is also known for it's sport teams-St Louis Cardinals Baseball Team and St Louis Blues Hockey Team. However, the city is also known for it's high crime rate-ranked in the top highest crime rating cities within the US.

Off campus dining has a vast variety of options available to anyone and everyone from fast food to oriental restaurants.
College Junior 2013-11-14T15:39:28Z
I have been taking strictly online classes because I live too far from the campus.

They are very fast for being school owned computers. The network needs some work, but has gotten progressively better.
College Junior 2013-09-05T17:07:27Z
The winters are rather harsh with the random Ice Storms. The falls/summer is very very hot.
College Junior 2013-09-05T17:06:37Z
It is a very small campus which allows a lot of interacting between students and teachers. The college has a great atmosphere. Everyone seems very friendly.

There are no assigned spots, but there are a ton of spots open on the weekends. Parking is a little pricey for students.

I do not have my own car so I don't park on campus, but I haven't heard any complaints from anyone so far.

I think the hardest part of getting in to my program was simply just coming up with the funds to get myself through college, since I am doing it all on my own and not receiving any help from my parents, who can't afford it.

I haven't necessarily had any internships, but I have had work study jobs on campus that do not pertain to my major. However, I would love to have an internship in my field through Central in the future.

I am an English major and I have really enjoyed being in the English program at Central Methodist University. My career goals are to become a teacher who helps kids out not only in the classroom, but in every day life. I want to be that one teacher who inspires a student and encourages them to do better and reach for their dreams, because no goal is unattainable if you work for it. I honestly do not have any concerns about finding a job in my field, because the Career Center at my college is very excellent at helping graduates with that.

I have enjoyed my experience so far. The professors are very welcome and at Central I feel like I am more than just a number. I am an English education major and so far my professors have been truly great. My adviser is also a big help!

Fayette is a small town so the off-campus dining is limited. There is McDonalds, Dairy Queen, mexican restaurant, subway, chinese, caseys, DJ's pizza, and McNans. But Columbia is only 30 minutes away and they have a great variety.
College Sophomore 2013-07-02T22:00:41Z
There are many locations on campus where computers are available such as in the lobby of each resident halls, eyrie cafe, library, and stedman hall of science. One could get away with not buying a computer easy. The WiFi isn't very good in some of the resident halls but overall it isn't a huge problem.
College Sophomore 2013-06-20T01:35:45Z
There is not a huge nightlife because Fayette is such a small town. There is one bar that allows 18 and up in it, but that is about it. For nightlife you would have to drive 30 minutes to go to Columbia. The school does help out and every week they have something going on, and it is always free of charge. They take students to the movies, haunted houses, professional football games, and a ski resort. They also have activities at the school during the week.

CMU is excellent for sports because about 75% of the population is involved in a sport. The facilities are excellent to workout in, and the gymnasium has recently received air conditioning. The only negative is the indoor turf room needs to be fixed up because it is old and stuffy. The fan support is also a big part of the school and it includes a student section called the "Dirty Birds".
College Sophomore 2013-06-20T01:27:34Z
The dorms need to be worked on because most of the building are old, just like the campus. HP is one of the worst to stay in, but renovations are going into this dorm to make it a better living environment. The custodial staff always keeps the dorms clean, and in the dorms with communal showers the staff cleans them everyday.
College Sophomore 2013-06-20T01:21:16Z
This school is extremely diverse. The sports teams attract many international students from all over the western hemisphere. Even though this is a small school people come to CMU from all over the USA and the world.
College Sophomore 2013-05-22T21:30:22Z
Fayette is a safe small town and everybody is very friendly and nice. I personally love it here because it is like my home town. There may not be alot of attractions and shopping places available but Columbia is only 30 minutes away.

The dining hall is good in the beginning of the year but then it becomes typical. You already know what they are going to serve and it gets quite boring. You freshman year if you don't eat your 19 meals a week. Take the smaller meal plan, the school is expensive as it is why pay for meals you know you won't eat?
College Junior 2013-05-14T16:48:02Z
Some of the sports are bigger than others. But quite a bit of the sports have made it to the NAIA and Won!
Sorry, there are no reviews.
