I don't know much about off-campus housing
College Freshman 2013-12-09T19:51:35Z
There's a lot of options for computers
College Freshman 2013-12-09T19:50:18Z
It's all been pretty good and I love it
College Freshman 2013-12-09T19:49:51Z
It's a hassle to get to the car

I live off campus and I love it. They're really nice and I haven't had any problems.

I'm not involved with Greek Life and don't know much about it but I'm indifferent about them.

A lot of people drink who attend Central and I know of a few people who smoke but not many do. I don't know of anyone who does other drugs but I'm sure there are some people who attend Central and take other drugs. There is no peer pressure, when I was underage I attended parties and never drank and still had a fun time. No one pressured me to do anything.

Central is great at ticketing when you park at meters. Within a few minutes if you don't put enough quarters in you will most likely receive a ticket. It's not horrible trying to find a parking spot on campus but since I live off campus it's a daily activity for me.

I don't ever spend much money on off campus dinning since I don't have the money for it but their is definitely a variety of options to pick from and especially this year so many new restaurants have opened in Mount Pleasant.
College Senior 2013-11-24T21:51:55Z
I don't know much about what central does with diversity and acceptance but theirs a wide variety of ethnicity's at Central and the University provides programs for ethnicity's that need help.

I tried applying for financial aid and didn't receive any because my parents are pretty well off but now that I am paying for almost everything it's really hard to balance work and school and have enough time to get everything done.
College Senior 2013-11-24T21:44:31Z
The cost for taxi cabs just went up this year so that's a little inconvenient and we try to not take them as much anymore and the bars have gotten old along with the one club in Mount Pleasant. People don't have as much parties anymore.
College Senior 2013-11-24T21:40:26Z
Mount Pleasant is a college town and I wouldn't want to live here after I graduate or raise a family. There isn't much to do and the closest mall is a half hour away in Midland. The only sports teams are college games and their aren't many activities or attractions. The safety isn't the safest either.

Since I'm going into photojournalism there are a few programs that are necessary for my learning experience and CMU provides all of them and others. Including the newest and up to date programs. I've always been able to access a computer with the program I needed and the network has always been reliable and pretty fast.

Guys & Girls:
I've met a lot of really great friends since I've been attending CMU. They have all had a good balance between having fun and getting school work done but of course school comes first.

My freshman year was the only year I participated in campus dining and my dorm was the farthest away from the other dorms on campus. My hall was one of the oldest and had the worst dining. Since I didn't have a car and it was a twenty minute walk to the better dining halls I wasn't able to take advantage of the better meals as much as I would have liked to. Since the weather is cold most of the school year I sufficed with the food I had access to. Their wasn't that much variety and it wasn't ever that good. I probably used my flex dollars more than my meal plans and bought microwavable macaroni and snacks.

When school first begins in August it's warm but the warm weather doesn't last very long and most of the school year the weather is very cold. I don't do very well in cold temperatures so it's harder for me to keep motivated and function, especially when I have to be outside for a project or to take photos but I still get it done.

I'm in a great program and have loved my professors. Most of them have done something with Journalism before teaching, have a lot of knowledge about the career and have been really helpful with helping me progress. I have learned so much once choosing to major in photojournalism and already am so much better off than I was when I first enrolled in the program and feel so much more confident about my skills and being able to get a job once I graduate. I'm looking forward to advancing and gaining more experience with photojournalism.

CMU did a great job on taking my previous college and academic history into consideration. They are great and taking military history into account. My only gripe is on the financial aid part. It would be great if the university assigned a person with vast knowledge on scholarships/financial aid and had a program to step you through the process. A sort of money advocate, if you would say.

It is diverse enough for me to encounter any challenges in business and have the tools to overcome them. The work load is great, not to much and not to little.
College Junior 2013-11-16T15:15:21Z
As a global campus student, CMU doesn't affect me in this area. Alumni have told me campus life is a great experience.
College Junior 2013-11-16T15:12:10Z
I love CMU. From the professors, the curriculum, the students, all of it. I am proud to be a part of this college.

I am still new to this process and am learning. So far, the rules of financial aid were not clearly spelled out and no support for this year was offered from the college on scholarships. I have done my own research and discovery on this particular subject. The school can do improvement in this area.

I have just taken a Oppressions class. People in this class were open, honest, and very accepting for people in various ethnic and racial groups. Everyone respected each others beliefs and were very comfortable talking about touchy subjects.

I plan on retireing from the Navy in Michigan. It is home to me and my family. Everyone tells me that the people are great and everyone is loving and respectful towards everyone.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
