Greek life at Centre is huge and, for good or bad, it's one of the defining aspects of the campus. One of the benefits of Centre's recruitment process is that Rush doesn't actually start until February, and the delay offers freshmen time to consider their options. There are a ton of stereotypes about the different Greek organizations, but the most truthful thing said is that there is a place for everyone, and this seems especially important for girls. During recruitment, a lot of girls worry that they will be separated from their new friends or that they won't get in, but at Centre, that's not the case. Since the campus is so small, everyone is friends with each other, and the Greek organizations all get along, at least until Greek Week.
Sororities and fraternities tend to have lower dues than at bigger institutions, which is a huge money-in-your-pocket plus. The fraternity parties are open to everyone, but the Crushes, or theme parties that the girls throw, are by invite-only. Scoring a date to one of these parties, even if you're a girl in a different sorority, isn't that hard, and they are always boss fun, no matter who's hosting it. Greek life at Centre gives off an impression the minute your parents drive off and you start meeting upperclassmen. Figuring out which house is best for you, or even if you're interested in recruitment, is easy to determine, and the extra time provides the opportunity to make other freshman friends.
