College Prowler Take
The ease of parking at Centre is usually taken for granted. There is always an available spot somewhere near where you are trying to go, although it may involve a few minutes to walk from your parking spot to your dorm. Freshmen are allowed to bring cars, and many people on campus have a car, which is odd, because you don’t need it to go anywhere on Centre’s campus. The best places to park are behind Nevin/Breck, behind Bingham, and the lot behind Yerkes/Cheek/Evans. These places are well-lit and a minute’s walk from the dorms, which is handy, especially during move-in and move-out days. Of course, this also explains why these lots are almost always full. DPS is serious about fining cars parked in faculty or staff lots. Weekends and evenings after 5 p.m., you can park anywhere, but at 8 a.m. the next morning, they are out in the lots ticketing. It’s also easy to forget where you parked your car because you’ll end up walking everywhere, and then when you need it to go off campus, it may take a couple of tries to remember where you left it. Having your decal on your back window is also a must, as it will elicit a quick ticket without its proper display. There is also a channel to contest tickets, and students have been able to repeal their fines.

Freshmen can bring a car, and there is plenty of parking on campus. Although sometimes you have to park about two or three blocks away, which can be a little sketchy at night when you have to walk by yourself back to the dorm. Most parking is pretty close.

Parking on the north side of campus is not always fun, but there is plenty of parking on campus for everyone. Freshmen are allowed to brings car, and one of the nice things about Centre is that there is no assigned parking, so freshmen do not get terrible parking.

Parking can be tough in some places, especially if construction is going on. However, you can usually find parking somewhere on campus, and the most you'll have to walk is five minutes to get wherever you need to go. Freshmen can bring a car, but the freshman parking is some of the toughest.

Accumulating more than three parking tickets spells trouble when DPS immobilizes your car with a portable boot device, and then charges $25 a day (plus the original parking fine) until you have it removed by calling them.
