The diversity at Champlain is increasing, as fostering an inclusive and diverse community is a part of Champlain's 2020 mission. Vermont is 70 percent white, with the greater-Burlington community having the most diversity as a result of the refugee resettlement program in the neighboring town, as well as the five colleges in the area.
Students at Champlain are very inclusive—no matter one's gender, religion, sexual orientation, political views, race, or ethnicity. For student leaders, there are many workshops on identity, as well as priority and oppression. Other than this, the discussion is kept at a minimum. Most groups are well-represented within the 2,000 undergraduate students, and it will only get better.
