On such a small campus, Champlain does not have any off-campus food vendors, but downtown Burlington is less than a mile away. Downtown Burlington and the surrounding areas have a surplus of restaurants to satisfy any craving or address any dietary need. There are many restaurants committed to fresh ingredients and local fare, and almost all have vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free options. The restaurants on Church Street in Burlington are a little more expensive. Many are appropriate for meetings, dates, or when family is visiting. Otherwise, there are more convenient selections with delivery options to campus. A walk down to KKD’s (Kountry Kart Deli) is common for a late-night meal, and many students get wings delivered from Wings Over Burlington or pizza from Mr. Mike’s or Big Daddy’s. There is even a cookie delivery place called Vermont Cookie Creations that makes custom cookies and delivers them to your door!
Even if you don’t live or work on Main Campus, there are many restaurants near Champlain’s Miller Center at Lakeside and around Spinner Place in Winooski. Food is never far away, but students need to watch their spending when it comes to off-campus dining, especially when they already have an unlimited meal plan on campus.
