Yes, not to mention the free parking for Champlain students at gilbane parking lot. Yes, and with the shuttles, it makes it easy to access your vehicle.
Yes, it is convenient for a lot of students. With gilbane parking lot being about 1 mile away and free for all Champlain students to park their vehicles, it takes away one expense that can be avoided. Also, shuttles run back and forth from gilbane so students do not need to worry about walking back to campus. The shuttles run every 15-20mins. Did I also mention that the Burlington bus transportation system is free for Champlain students?

For sustainability and economic purposes, Champlain is aiming to be a car-free campus by 2020. With all of the construction and building expansion on campus, parking lots are being eliminated. For now, the best option for parking is the Gilbane Lot off of Pine Street, one mile from campus. There are frequent shuttles to Gilbane, and since the Miller Center at Lakeside was built and opened, vandalism of cars has not been a problem.
For now, while parking lots still exist on campus, parking is strictly for professors with on-campus parking permits between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. on weekdays. After 4 p.m. and on weekends, students and visitors can park on campus without a permit. During the restricted hours, parking enforcement is strict and will ticket cars. On average, these parking tickets are $50. If students are commuters or have off-campus jobs that run late into the night, there are circumstances where on-campus permits can be granted for $100 per semester. If students live at Quarry Hill or Spinner Place, there are garages available on-site, with various permit costs.
