Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Students at Chapman take school seriously and become close to their professors. The classes are interactive, fun, and social, so students look forward to learning. But the main reason students like going to class is the professors—they are personable, love to give advice, and are very eager to create relationships with students and help them succeed. Most professors are extremely experienced in their fields—Chapman teachers include authors, film directors, advertising executives, psychiatrists, and entrepreneurs, among many others. In addition to bringing real world experience to the classroom, they are excellent networking resources, and many students have received internships at a professor's company.

Chapman is most known for its film school, Dodge College. All the professors there have extensive experience in the film industry, and the facilities allow students to create professional films. Also, Chapman's Argyros School of Business and Economics is nationally recognized. The classes are very difficult, but students leave Argyros with a strong sense of the business world. Generally speaking, students rarely complain about their classes. Even though the workload can be difficult for some majors, students are willing to learn and be challenged. Not all majors have a heavy workload, but students studying film, business, science, or music should expect to have at least a couple hours of homework every night. The best part about Chapman's academics is that they’re steadily improving. The University is receiving more and more recognition for its academic programs, and its reputation is continually getting stronger.
