Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Chapman is not a sports-oriented school. Although there are some good teams, there is a lack of school spirit and student support for sports. The only sporting event that a large number of students attend is the homecoming game, and even that is lacking in spirit. Chapman is trying to increase spirit by having a pep rally before the game, but it still hasn't succeeded in getting students excited about sports. Although homecoming is the biggest game of the year, football is not the best team at Chapman. Lacrosse, water polo, and baseball have the best reputation and are the most talented teams.

Chapman students are athletic and like to exercise, so many join intramural sports, such as ultimate Frisbee, tennis, or soccer. If students want to participate in sports without a big time commitment, they can join a handful of athletic clubs, like daily running group. Chapman's state-of-the-art athletic facilities are available to all students. Chapman student like to look good, so they usually spend as couple hours a week taking advantage of the fully equipped gym, track, and Olympic-sized pool.

It's Descent for a D-III School

The football field is fairly new and beautiful, but if your looking to go to a big sports school, Chapman is not it. Students are pretty spirited however, and we get nice things but I mean, like I said we are division 3.

School Spirit

In general, Chapman students don't have Panther pride. Unless students personally know an athlete playing, they won't attend a game. The only game a majority of students will attend is homecoming with their family, which is held during Parents' Weekend.

Getting Tickets

Students can either call to reserve tickets or purchase them the day of the game. Students with a Chapman ID can get tickets at a discounted price.

Best Place to Take a Walk

Most students walk along the beach in Huntington, Newport, or Laguna. Some popular hiking trails include the Live Oak Trail in Lake Forest and Moro Ridge Loop in Irvine.
