Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Orange is not a college city—stores and restaurants close early, neighbors frequently call the cops on Chapman parties, and there are no attractions within walking distance. Luckily, Chapman is in the perfect location relative to other cities. It is driving distance to Los Angeles, numerous beaches, Disneyland, and Angel Stadium. On weekends, students rarely stay in Orange, and instead drive to neighboring cities. Disneyland is the main attraction for Chapman students, many who have an annual pass, allowing them to go to to the amusement park whenever they want. Some go for the whole day, and some go just to hang out in Downtown Disney.

Los Angeles is the perfect destination for a day trip. Students can go to nice restaurants, do some shopping, and visit nearby schools like USC or UCLA at night to check out the party scene. If students do want to stay on campus, the only attraction within walking distance is the Orange Circle. It boasts cozy restaurants and cafés, which are a perfect place to study or catch up with old friends. Chapman students like to explore—the campus is pretty empty during the weekends because students would much rather go to the beach, shop at one of the many malls, or go see a movie.

Quaint Town

The town of orange is really old and small, has a vintage feel to it. Not really a big city other than LA nearby if you want to go clubbing.

Love Old Town Orange

Orange is a wonderful, quaint town with antique malls and great food. Newport is 15 minutes away, Disneyland is 10 minutes away and LA is about 45 minutes. Great central location, and very safe,

The Wonderful World of Chapman

The local atmosphere around Chapman is nice, quiet, and calm in an old towne-like way. You get a great sense of community whether you go to a restaurant, antique store, or grab some frozen yogurt. You get to know your surroundings/the workers around. The only downside is most of this community circle is closed around 9pm. So, for later night outings, a car is needed!
