Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

The nightlife in Orange is mediocre. The biggest attractions are the bars and house parties, which students go to every week. The most popular bar for Chapman students is The District Lounge, a five-minute walk from campus. For students who are under 21 and still want to have fun within walking distance, fraternities and sports teams throw house parties very close by. But, the bar and party scene can get old fast—bars often feature the same crowd, and house parties usually get broken up early in the night.

Luckily, Los Angeles is just a drive away and offers a much more vibrant and energetic party scene. Students can spend the day shopping or exploring Los Angeles, and then hit the club scene at night. Although Hollywood clubs can be pretty expensive, students enjoy the night-long dance parties and LA atmosphere. Students can also head to Disneyland to watch the fireworks show. Another popular alternative is going to the Irvine Spectrum Center to have dinner and see a movie or do some late-night shopping.

Parties

This isn't a "USC" or "UCLA" so its gonna be a given that there are limited options to go out and party.

There are some fun Chapman traditions/events like: Undie Run, Homecoming, and such

but the parties you will mostly find are hosted by the frats/sororities or athletes after a game.

Being Underage Sucks, Face It

Parties that last until 12 am sometimes*, usually "rolled" by that time. Chapman is located right by the downtown circle where you'll see a generous selection of bars for those that are old enough. Transportation is not really an option in Orange, the buses come every 30,45, sometimes every hour so it is hard to get places without planning ahead of time (Way ahead).
