There are not very many heavy drug users on campus, just the occasional marijuana smoking. Alcohol is big on campus but not over bearing. If you want to party you can find people, if not, no one holds it against you.

There are strict rules but if you do not flaunt what you do in your personal time, they usually let you slide.

Chestnut Hill area is safe and there are tons of little shops. It just a few minutes outside of Philadelphia and is a great area. It is a college town so they are very accepting of students.

There are areas for off campus housing but it can be extremely difficult to find a place willing to let a student from the college live. It is usually a hassle and is better just to live on campus. There is virtually no price difference between the two.

At Chestnut Hill all students are pushed to achieve great academic excellence. I am a forensic biology major and it is not for the faint of heart. The entire science department at Chestnut Hill requires a person who must be extremely devoted to academics. There are many research opportunities and is a great place to earn an undergraduate degree in many science fields. There is a lot of time spent in the lab which appeals to many students. The labs are great and have great resources. Professors are extremely invested in the students here and are great for networking.

Chestnut Hill College offers a very large variety of majors and is a great place to go to school. All classes are small, my largest one is only about 30 students. The small class sizes means a lot of one on one time with the professors which is especially helpful for understanding material better. There are plenty of quiet study areas to get away.

The computers at Chestnut Hill College are not state of the art, but they get the job done. Since it is a small community on campus, there is almost always a computer available to print off of or do homework on. Most people use their computers, but it is not necessary to have one.

Health & Safety:
When I was on campus it was daytime. I felt very secure in my environment. I will be taking an evening class. At which time, I will definitely stay alert as to my surroundings. The guards were very friendly and accommodating. Once inside the main campus, you pretty much can get to everything from the inside.

Outside of my taxes being audited, it was a smooth process. It took a few extra steps to make sure everything was on track.

Weather is great so far and hasn't affected my class schedule.

Food is average. I eat off campus a lot which tends to get expensive. A specific meal plan was assigned to me since I am a freshman, so I will probably look into a different meal plan next year.

As a criminal justice major, I will like a internship that will expand my mind about the world of criminal justice. I will like to do some criminal cases going to the jail or following the police officer just to overview what they are doing. I will love a pay internship but if not pay it ok I just want the experience

Chestnut Hill College is a drug free and dry campus, but there are still those handful of students that do drink.

There are 2 places on campus with computers - the computer lab and the library. The computer lab has free printing and the library costs 10 cents a page for black and white pages. I have never used the computers on campus because I have my own laptop and my own printer because a friend told me that the computer labs can get pretty crowded and aren't open before 8 am classes.

Chestnut Hill's campus has 24 hour security. There are 2 desks in the main building - one in the basement at on end of campus and one on the first floor at the other end. The main security room is found in the basement of one of the dorm buildings. Each dorm building has it's own security desk where students swipe in and out.

I love the education department at Chestnut Hill. All of the professors are very friendly and willing to help you when you need it. I thought that some of the work could be a little hard, but it all depends on the person and what they think.

I choose Chestnut Hill College because it is a smaller school and has a lot to offer. It is one of the few colleges in Pennsylvania that provides education students with degrees that can be used in other states, not just Pennsylvania. I have meet a ton of people who are truly amazing, and every professor I have had was extremely nice.

There are apartments right across the street from CHC. I don't live in one but I have friends who do. And while I can't necessarily afford to live there, I do admit that they are nice. It has great parking, it's in a good location, and the school is willing to help you live there. There are also other places you could go if you didn't want to be that close for some reason. Finding housing isn't necessarily the issue, its affording it.
College Junior 2013-06-20T03:52:21Z
One of the first things that drew me into CHC was the small class size. In my experience the teachers are willing to put in the extra effort to make sure you understand the subject if you are also willing to put in the effort. They sincerely want you to learn. CHC as a whole aims to provide a well rounded education which is why the have core requirements in various subjects such as science or art. While making your schedule this may seem like a waste but it is actually a good opportunity to develop oneself. The work load depends on the class but as i have stated, there are various teachers and other CHC staff who are willing to help if asked.
College Junior 2013-06-20T03:41:38Z
CHC parking leaves a lot to be desired. If you want a decent spot then you should probably get to campus a half hour before your class. Not only is the parking lot small but it is also located at the bottom of a hill, which makes it difficult for the days family is supposed to visit, and near a river which occasionally floods.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
