The student body at my school is very diverse. Very friendly, fashionable, out-going, career driven. Most students have aspirations of transferring into a 4 year school to enhance education.

The student body is extremely diverse, which helps tremendously in a learning/teaching level. I am an adult continuing my education and I've always felt included and welcomed, its great to actually be amongst so many adults and veterans that have similar goals and havent given up.

This school has students from just about every race. To go along with that you have some students that are right out of high school and want to go straight to colleges as well as people in their twenties and older looking to further their education. In one of my classes, half of the students were younger than twenty one and the other half was older than 30.

The school offers plenty to its students, however certain departments are still unorganized when it comes to tending the needs of individuals. It is average. Students are available to seek resources if needed.

The major reason I came to Harold Washington is for their diversity. There are people from every walk of life that attend classes here. People from various countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America, cities around the US, and from all areas of Chicago go to Harold Washington. Also the age range and relationship status of students is also very diverse, any class can be filled with moms, dads, grandmothers, kids straight out of high school and people who took a few years off and are returning. It really makes for a great environment to learn about others from different backgrounds and makes certain classes, like philosophy very fun and exciting when topics are brought up for discussion.
