The dining hall has numerous options with respect to the food that it serves. There is a deli, fast food selections, grill, innovations section, a salad bar, and various entrées. This gives students the ability to mix and match their meals to suit their eating style. However, students eventually get tired of the dining hall food because it becomes redundant by mid-semester, and you will begin to see food items being repeated. The cafeteria, like everything else, has its good days and bad days. Some days it can be so busy that students are lining up outside the doors waiting to get in, and other days it can be slow and less noisy. The ambiance of the cafeteria is very upbeat—it’s always lively; however, it can sometimes be a little overwhelming when it’s crowded and you can’t find a place to sit. The cafeteria workers are very friendly and ready to serve students the best meals they can, but they will not tolerate students trying to take food out of the cafeteria.

Some students complain that the cafeteria lacks variety, especially for people with special dietary needs, and this is true—there are not many options for vegetarians, people with restricted diets (kosher, especially), or anyone trying to eat healthy. Basically, the food prepared here is very Southern style, so expect to see everything dipped, battered, and fried before being put on your plate!

Meatless Mondays, Fried Chicken Wednesdays and Fried Fish Fridays

The dining hours are not very flexible. Breakfast 7-9; lunch 11-1:30 and Dinner 4:30 to 7. So you will be hungry at night. The meals are predictive ever week as the title suggests. The grill line is pretty good though. We have a Jazzman's Cafe where we can get amazing caffeine beverages and pastries. Thats the best part!

Food for the Panthers.

The food at Claflin is very fair. They have different varities to choose from. They have a southern hospitality. Our Dinning hall could use a little bit more space. Sometimes there does not be enough room for all the students.
