Since Claflin University is a historically black college and university (HBCU), the majority of students here are African Americans. However, the University does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, handicap, or age in any of its policies, and Claflin actually has a very diverse student population. The students and professors at Claflin come from different states and countries—there are students from 25 states and 15 foreign countries, including Austria, Ghana, India, Mexico, Nigeria, Trinidad and Tobago, and Vietnam—and the campus is a big melting pot of different cultures, races, and ideas.
Also, despite being strongly affiliated with the Methodist Church, there are also many different types of religions acknowledged on campus. Students have free speech and rights and can follow whichever religious denomination they choose, as long as they do not try to force their beliefs onto anyone else. The students, faculty, and staff are very welcoming and hospitable to everyone regardless of their differences in diversity, and in today’s society, it is very rare to find that trait.

There is a wide diversity on campus we all treat each other the same. They strongly believe in us going to the chapel on usndays on campus at least sometimes.

Our school is an HBCU (Historically Black College and University) so majority of the students are African American but i mean we do have a vast array of different ethnic groups that come from overseas and everything.
