When the dining hall on campus closes at 6:30 p.m., off-campus dining takes off. Students generally resort to the nearby fast food joints to satisfy their late-night cravings, especially when final exams come around. Luckily, many restaurants are within walking distance, but students with cars can go as far as their taste buds take them.

There are many options to choose from because there is a variety of established restaurants in this small town. The cost of off-campus dining is also reasonable for students, but many just stick with dining on campus during the day because of its convenience. Another “trick” the University uses to get students to eat more meals on campus is making them pay for their meal plans at the beginning of each semester. As a result, many students would rather save a buck or two and eat the food they already paid for on campus. Nevertheless, off-campus dining has become a major part of students’ lives, especially at night—true nightlife is lacking here, so going out to eat gives students something to do. Whether it’s a quick coffee run or a special date, the options are there. However, be prepared to be back by 12 a.m.—or even sooner—because many of the local restaurants close at that time.

Nothing Healthy

The majority of off-campus dining is consist of fast food places. As of anything of a major restaurant with healthy option, individuals would have to go on the other side of town for that.

Same Old Stuff

You have the same six options unless you have a car. Cookout Wendys and Mcdonalds serve the same thing. Then you have taco bell and Dominoes. There is also a Chinese Restaurant but if you are from the city, you will soon find out that it is gross.

Off-Campus

Off-Campus dining is pretty convenient especially if you have no car because everything is so close. We have a fast food place called Cookout down the street, Dollar General, Domino's pizza, New York By The Slice, Mcdonalds, Taco Bell, Wendy's, KFC. Just alot of variety to choose from
