For a group of career-oriented go-getters, CMCers are relatively attractive and outgoing. They are always up for going out and meeting new people. There are lots of different weekend parties—both at CMC and the other colleges—to meet a partner. While the alcohol flows freely and some parties have crazy themes, there is minimal crazy sex acts happening at the parties; people save it for the dorm room.

The relationship culture at CMC is kind of non-existent; people are a lot more interested in a night of fun than a steady relationship. Most people are single, and one-night stands are popular. The pool of people to choose from is relatively small, so students travel to the nearby colleges for more variety. You can find just about any type of person at one of the other schools, if not at CMC.

While Sunday morning brunch is full of gossip about the weekend’s debauchery, students at CMC take safe sex very seriously. Condoms are available outside of every RA’s room and at the student health services. At the health center, one can also find contraception, free STD testing, and many information pamphlets.

Girls Are Dogs

Honestly, I don't know where these positive reviews come from. Most of the girls at CMC are not attractive. Period. This makes the ones that are attractive act terribly because the mostly male population gives them so much attention. That being said, the Scripps pool usually has a pretty good view.

CMC Guys Think They're God's Gift to Women (But They're Not!)

Dominated by preppy "bros" who like to walk around shirtless and otherwise dress in head-to-toe Abercrombie. If that's your thing and you don't mind that most of them are really full of themselves and have disgusting attitudes toward women, then more (or less) power to you. Otherwise, get used to looking to the other 3Cs or off campus for your dating pool.

Good Stuff

People here are generally good looking, friendly, and very outgoing. There are are exceptions, but most students are a lot of fun to be around. Almost everyone loves to have a good time, and there are few if any who hole themselves up to study all day. People here know how to strike a good work/fun balance. Work hard play hard.

Social Scene

People love to party at CMC. The student government provides the alcohol for most parties, so it's always in abundance. Most parties are mid-sized, but there is a lot of pregaming in dorms, as are there several 5C parties on weekends. There are some alternative weekend outings, such as museum trips and intramural sports, but most people like to party.

Hookups or Relationships?

CMC definitely leans more towards hookups than serious relationships. People who are in relationships take them very seriously, but most people are just looking for a night of fun. It's important to remember that CMC is tiny, and chances are if you hook up with someone, everyone will know by tomorrow.

Dress Code

The CMC dress code for guys is flip-flops, cargo shorts, and a T-shirt or polo. Girls wear flip-flops, and a variety of jeans, tees, and casual skirts/dresses. Everyone at CMC is fairly casual and conservative; it's rare to see an outfit that makes you look twice. The only time people get a little crazy is dressing up for theme parties.
