Everything Has Positives and Negatives
The newly built suites are definitely the nicest places to live on campus because residents get their own bathroom, air conditioning, a living room (with furniture), and carpeted floors; however, they are much more expensive, people are less social with those living on their floor, and they are difficult to get into unless you sign up for housing early. The dorms are older and don't have the same amenities but the atmosphere is great and most of the year no air conditioning isn't an issue. The dorms are also significantly cheaper. I absolutely loved living in the dorm last year despite not getting all of the niceties of the suites.
