Health & Safety at Clarion University of Pennsylvania

Pretty Safe

I've always felt pretty safe on campus. The police are constantly driving around campus monitoring especially late at night. Public Safety is a little inconveniently far from housing but not a big deal. Plenty of emergence call boxes are located around campus as well. My roommate and I always locked our doors when we left or slept, and we had no issues.

Campus Housing at Clarion University of Pennsylvania

Everything Has Positives and Negatives

The newly built suites are definitely the nicest places to live on campus because residents get their own bathroom, air conditioning, a living room (with furniture), and carpeted floors; however, they are much more expensive, people are less social with those living on their floor, and they are difficult to get into unless you sign up for housing early. The dorms are older and don't have the same amenities but the atmosphere is great and most of the year no air conditioning isn't an issue. The dorms are also significantly cheaper. I absolutely loved living in the dorm last year despite not getting all of the niceties of the suites.

Parking at Clarion University of Pennsylvania

Okay Parking

Parking passes are expensive, but there is a free option at the stadium lot; however, the stadium is an inconvenient walk from campus that takes at least twenty minutes. Freshman are forced to park at the bottom of a considerable hill that is at the foot of campus. Although there is a bus system that students can ride for free, it is useful to have a car on campus because the movie theater, Wal-Mart, and numerous other shops and restaurants are not within walking distance. If you do make the walk, it is 45 minutes along a dangerous roads because there is no sidewalk.
