Marva Collins –
She served as consultant to the National Department of Children, Youth and Family Services, and director of the Chicago Right to Read Program. Awards and honors include Educator of the Year Award from Phi Delta Kappa and the Chicago Urban League. Founder of the prestigious Westside Preparatory School located in Chicago.
James Weldon Johnson – A leading African American author, poet, early civil rights activist, and prominent figure in the Harlem Renaissance Era. James Weldon Johnson also wrote the lyrics to the national Negro anthem “Lift Every Voice and Sing”.
Emmanuel Lewis – Emmanuel Lewis is best known for his title role in the 1980s television sitcom Webster.
