College Prowler Take
Fortunately, the computers at Clark Atlanta University are technologically up-to-date with programs that are necessary for almost every project CAU professors assign. Prospective students will be pleased to know that not only are the computers technologically advanced, they are also very attractive, and most computers are equipped with flat-screen monitors and small, compact CPUs. Behind the glitz and glamour of having some of the most attractive and well-equipped computers lays the stark reality of not having very many accessible computers. CAU students’ main complaint in regards to the campus computers is that there are not enough computers, and the computers that are there are not accessible.
The computer labs on campus are almost always full, and the library computer lab is the only computer lab where quality study time can be obtained without noisy interruptions. Students are encouraged to bring their own computers for times when labs might not be so accessible. Prospective students should not agonize when personal finances will not allow for a computer, because most dorms have 24-hour computer labs that are small, but convenient for late-night studying. Printing at the computer labs is very common around campus, so students should be sure to have a few extra dollars on their Panther PAW card for those times where last-minute printing is crucial. Clark Atlanta University also provides an e-mail system for students and faculty that has really improved over the years.

The only people you see carrying around laptop computers are the business school graduate students. In my opinion, laptops are not really necessary for B-school undergraduates because the professors don’t really give that much of a workload. Laptops are good if you can afford them, but if you can’t, you won’t be lost without it. |

Most of the freshman dorms have computer labs located inside the dorm. In Brawley Hall, there is a computer lab that houses several computers, and the lab is open 24 hours a day for people who like to pull all-nighters. |

There are tons of computers on campus, and finding one to use is not that difficult, as long as all you need to do is use the actual computer. The Carl and Mary Ware Academic Center has a computer with Internet access in every single room, and there are always a few rooms available. The computers that are located in the Carl and Mary Ware Academic do not have printer connections, but you can search the Web and use Microsoft applications. |

Clark Atlanta has been improving their computer labs since my freshman year, and I’m a senior now. They are continuing to improve the computer labs with new equipment and longer hours in certain labs. The e-mail system has improved as well. |

If you can’t afford a computer, then it’s not that big of a deal because you can still make good grades and take good notes without it. Most people here are pretty friendly and will let you use their computer if absolutely necessary. The computer labs are usually available and they are pretty user-friendly. Printing can be done easily as long as you keep money on your print card. |
