Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Clark Atlanta University has a diverse student body that includes pretty girls, pretty boys, collegiate thugs, India Aries (the naturals), valedictorians, future businessmen and women, and almost every other kind of student you can imagine. At first glance, it would seem that the pretty girls, collegiate thugs, and future businessmen and women dominate the campus. The pretty girls of Clark Atlanta University are usually very aware of the latest fashion styles, and surprisingly, some never step into public view without full make-up and stilettos that are seemingly perfect for those 9 a.m. classes.

The collegiate thugs of Clark Atlanta were rough and tough in high school and they refuse to give up their image simply because they are receiving higher education at a top university. The naturals are genuinely loved because they are so down for black beauty. The valedictorians are both male and female students who have accomplished academic excellence. The most dominant social assembly is the future businessmen and women at Clark Atlanta University. This group is dominant because many of the other groups are also a part of this group. Future businessmen and women at Clark Atlanta have a top priority, and that is to graduate with a job that pays well.

Facts

Social Scene

Clark Atlanta University is like a big ol' family. Most students on campus are very sociable and friendly, even if they don't know you personally. During new student orientation week, students get a chance to meet and get acquainted with each other before the semester begins. It's extremely easy to find and make new friends at Clark. Most freshman students like to chill on the Strip or hang out at parties.

Hookups or Relationships?

The dating scene is almost entirely filled with causal hookups and temporary relationships. During orientation week, new students find hooking up easy because almost everyone is new to the city and there are few places to go off campus. There is a small percentage of students who decide to commit to each other, but when they do, the relationships usually don't last very long. The students that commit and actually make their relationship last are probably truly meant for each other because there are usually no more than two or three for every class.

Best Places to Meet Guys/Girls

There are countless places to meet members of the opposite sex in Atlanta. The easiest and probably the most comfortable place to meet people is on campus. It’s generally easy to spark a conversation with others because everyone is usually approachable and friendly. Another good way to meet new people is through joining student academic and social organizations. Joining a Greek organization is another way to socialize with others of the same interest and to have a fun college experience through a very memorable pledging process.

Dress Code

The University has a dress code that is outlined in roughly every official document that they hand out, and it is also posted on walls in the academic hallways. The dress code prohibits short skirts, do-rags, see-through clothing of any form, and other clothing that may cause major distraction to other students or staff. The University's dress code is not overly enforced; however, the School of Business dress code is gradually becoming more strict. Freshmen and upperclassmen that are a part of the business school are required to dress professionally Monday through Friday. Business students that decide not to dress in accordance to the dress code can be denied service and assistance from administrators and professors in the business school.
