College Prowler Take
The city of Atlanta can easily be described as one of the biggest party cities in the United States. Atlanta has been fortunate to host some of the country’s most popular events, including the MEGA fest (an extremely popular spiritual retreat), Atlanta Film Festival, Atlanta Football Classic, and a variety of other major events that attract tourists as well as students. One of the social benefits of choosing a school in Atlanta is that there will always be several parties after the event that you have attended that are guaranteed to be crunk. Although Atlanta is not the traditional college town in which a lot of activities are conducted on the actual campus itself, no one can deny the fact that there is always something to do in this restless city. Morehouse, Spelman, Clark Atlanta, Morris Brown, and the ITC are all included in what is commonly referred to as the Atlanta University Center (or Consortium). Clark Atlanta University holds the unofficial meeting place for all the students in the AUC called the Strip. Although often reduced to just being a trendy fashion runway, “The Strip” is where students can develop lifelong friendships with some of the most intellectual, ambitious, and in many cases, beautiful students this world has to offer. Other universities that are relatively close by include Georgia State University, Georgia Tech, Emory University, and University of Georgia (Athens).

Buckhead is one of the main hotspots. The good thing about Buckhead is there is much more cultural diversity. Even though the suburb has recently set a curfew in that area, the party scene is still jumping. Midtown is full of homosexuals. Downtown is mostly full of the homeless. There isn’t anything wrong with homosexuals or the homeless, it’s just good to know where everything is at. |

The older people are really nice and respectful. The younger ATLiens, or whatever they call themselves, usually bring about the negativity. Besides every other dude calling you a shawty and bums begging for money, Atlanta is a pretty good place to live and play. |

Atlanta is a big city, but it’s not as big as New York or Boston. It’s hard to explain, but Atlanta is not as hot as it’s hyped up to be. There are a lot of parties, but there isn’t a lot of diversity, so the parties can get pretty mundane. |

Clark Atlanta’s surrounding area...
Clark Atlanta’s surrounding area is great. It is surrounded by both Spelman and Morehouse colleges and is only about five or ten minutes away from downtown Atlanta. As you know, Atlanta hardly ever has a dull moment, so Clark Atlanta is located in a great place. People are pretty friendly and have that Southern hospitality thing down pat. |

Atlanta is a great city. The most...
Atlanta is a great city. The most interesting part is that your environment is what you make it. The Promenade is a cool place to hang out in between classes during the day and at night (for the freshman students). Off campus, there are many educational as well as social festivities. I would recommend all freshmen to visit some of the many historic sites that Atlanta has to offer. |
