Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

The Clark Atlanta University administration recently decided that requiring students who have 58 credit hours or less to live on campus would yield positive benefits such as higher GPAs, higher retention, higher graduation rates, and a higher likelihood of attending a graduate or professional school among students. Even though this rule guarantees that during your sophomore year you will be confined to on-campus housing, there are still good things to look forward to come junior year. Clark Atlanta students that decide to move off campus get to experience “true adulthood” by learning to budget and spend efficiently in a high-priced city.

Apartment complexes located near the school are considered decent apartments because they are reasonably inexpensive, most include washer and dryer sets, and they also offer amenities such as swimming pools and weight rooms. Moving toward the outskirts of Atlanta are great options for students who have reliable transportation. Many Clark Atlanta students that choose to live places that are about 20 to 30 minutes away from campus do so for a good reason. Some of the areas located just outside metro-Atlanta are shockingly cheap and surprisingly beautiful. Some students that venture off campus have rented duplexes and homes that are located just a few blocks away from the main campus.

Housing in Metro-Atlanta

Atlanta is a very busy city, and housing around the area of Clark Atlanta is cheaper than actually housing on campus. Most students move off campus beginning their sophomore and junior year to save money.
