I am a Chemical Engineering major. We have our own building, Earle Hall, with a full functioning lab in the basement. There is the AlChE organization of Chemical Engineers. They do a lot to keep everyone close and active in the major.

The guys are super attractive. A lot of very active guys. There are country boys, jocks, frat guys, and they all take care of themselves very well.

There are so many opportunities to get good experience in your field before you graduate. So many internships, and as an engineering major Co-Oping is a big deal.

It can get pretty rainy, but for the most part very sunny and the campus is gorgeous march/april.

I have met and saw a wide verity of ethnicity here at Clemson

Parking is extremely stressful if you are running late to avoid this all together I come to park just before the previous class lets out and normally there are a few random spots available at this time. During rainy days always take advantage of the CAT bus! IT'S FREE!

Hard drugs are pretty hard to come by at the university unless you look real hard for them. Of course you will always have the recreational use of alcohol and marijuana but those are much more low key
College Junior 2013-06-26T03:22:22Z
Clemson does a good job of keeping on campus activities on lock. Outside of campus there is obviously less of a constant surveillance
College Junior 2013-06-26T03:21:14Z
Parking is a nightmare here. Almost guaranteed to get ticketed at least once during your stay.

Drugs are not popular, visible, or actively engaged in. Students take the consequences and policy enforcement and the severity pertaining to drug usage seriously.

Athletics are a huge part of campus life. Many students are very passionate about being involved with the athletic schedule and success of each individual program. Team performance is very important, and fans are passionate about the team members and their lifestyle. School spirit is the way of life, and students engage regularly at athletic facilities.

I'm in the double major secondary education and mathematics program, and I wish they offered a 5 years masters in education like many other schools. However many schools seem to be hiring straight out of college and then having you get your masters while you teach for them, so I'm not overly concerned about that.

Professors range from great to, maybe not terrible, but bad. If you look at rate my professor(dot com) or the course grade distribution report(can be found by searching course grade distribution report on clemson home page) can really help you find out what teachers you want. Registration process just got redone, but it definitely helps to come in with a lot of credits, even if the course doesn't transfer, make sure that your credit hours do because if you have 12 or so it can boost you up so you get to register earlier than others with that. For the most failed classes, Clemson provides SI (supplemental instruction) which is like a class tutoring session, and is usually helpful. Also, general tutoring is also offered (for free) by the academic success center. I've used both, mainly for my math classes.

I'm in secondary education and mathematics( a double major) and for education, they put you in education classes and a classroom your very first year, usually your first semester. I really liked that because it gives you a chance early on to decide if you really think you'd like being a teacher. The math workload is pretty hard, because well its math, but not unbearable if you get okay teachers. Many education classes are in Tillman, which has the clock tower and is the most iconic building at Clemson, so it's cool to be in there I guess.

I got a good amount of financial aid, but a lot was because I was out-of-state. I now have just above in-state tuition if you count only my scholarships from Clemson. It would be nice to get more, but I'm just happy I got enough to be able to go.

There are some apartments really close to campus which is great for not commuting, but these are hard to get and more expensive (about $375-450) and you'll have to share a room still, and you may not have enough parking for your whole apartment. However, these are close ones are extremely safe. If you're willing to go a little farther off campus, you can find cheaper housing and get your own room and bathroom.

Great pedestrian friendly downtown and lots of shops and restaurants

Clemson athletics are some of the best I have ever seen. There is nothing better than a Clemson football game

Off campus housing is very nice and very inexpensive compared to other colleges.

On campus, there is a bus that can take you around the Clemson area. There is also a transit bus that can take you back to your dorm at night. They are sometimes very slow though and don't pick you up on time.

The weather is good at Clemson. It does rain every once in a while but it isn't too bad. The only thing that sucks is when it is raining, you have to walk to class in the rain. It is sunny quite often, but it can get quite hot.

The academics are very good. There are a lot of programs that students can go into. The professors in the biology department are very good and they help a lot. Curriculum is good and they really challenge you to try your best. It is quite easy to register for classes. A lot of study areas are biology, communication, and psychology.

Greek life is everywhere at Clemson. They tend to throw a lot of parties and mainly only Greeks are invited. Some of them are good and do a lot of social interacting. There are a lot of off campus houses available for Greeks to live in and some live on campus in the quad.

I am a biology major and Clemson and i enjoy this major. There are a lot of different programs that you can get involved in. There is a bit of a workload since the major is pretty hard to begin with. The teachers I have encountered were good teachers and very helpful.

Clemson has some of the nation's top research facilities on campus and off campus. An hour away in Greenville, SC, the Clemson University International Center for Automotive Research (CU ICAR) is an internationally known automotive research center. Clemson also has facilities such as the Advanced Materials Center is Pendleton, SC, the Outdoors Lab in Pendleton, SC, several agricultural facilities, and the Clemson Experimental Forest.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
