The computer labs are great. The printing is simple and very convenient. The computers work very well most of the times though the wireless network could use some work. It tends to be slow and occasionally will drop. It is a very good idea to have a personal computer or printer.

Parking is terrible. There are very few parks available and parking permits can be expensive. Also, if it is your first year once you read the pamphlet you get once you buy your permit, read it immediately. Because one small mistake could land you a ticket with parking services (they are ruthless). If you commute get to campus like 30 minutes before class so you can find a park and get to where your class is because most likely you will have to park far off out of the way and will have to catch the bus to get to class.

Depending on where you live the on campus bus may or may not be convenient. when I lived in the on campus apartments (Lightsey) the bus was so very useful while when I lived almost in the middle of campus (McCabe) the bus was useless because it didn't run anywhere near my classes. Then when transit starts running around 5 occasionally it is useful depending on who is taking calls and driving. You can be waiting for a ride anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes. Transit is the most useful of on campus transportation.

Clemson spends a lot of money on Athletics and Athletes get a lot of special attention and treatment. In my opinion the rest of academics just gets thrown under the bus when it comes to athletes. They get new facilities, better food, more money overall their quality of life on campus is way better than being a student, in my humble opinion. But I digress, going to sporting events is something every student should do because all of the school spirit is electrifying! The athletics at Clemson is awesome.

Most frats are open to visitors as long as you have girls with you. Frat parties rage and everybody is cool and isn't afraid to let loose. 10/10 for parties.

$24,000 is a lot of money over 4 years, but when tuition is upwards of $30k a year, it does not really help out that much.

Two dining halls on campus. Both have their strengths. Schilletter is smaller but has higher quality pancakes, omelettes and french toast. Harcomb is large but the quality of their food seems to suffer a bit.
Overall though, the food is good and the menus are mixed up frequently. Being able to access the menus online or through the m.Clemson app is very useful and can save you a walk!

Clemson has quite a large and diverse selection of majors along with the appropriate facilities for each.

The dorms (especially freshman dorms) aren't sanitary and though the university always promises that they're going to tear down the dorms to rebuild them, they never do. A lot of the rooms aren't fit to live in. For example Clemson House, where I'm staying now, is INFESTED with bugs. Bugs of all kinds may I add. Ladybugs, mosquitoes, moths (omg the moths!), ants, beetles, spiders, everything! At night my room looks like a camp site with all the insects flying and crawling around. I've called maintenance multiple times about the issue and they always claim there is nothing they can do about it. Also, the actual 'signing up for housing' process is a pain. Clemson is accepting so many freshman this upcoming academic year, that juniors and seniors aren't allowed to apply for housing. How is that fair?!

It gets very, very cold during the winter and it stays cold for quite a while. It doesn't warm up until around the end of May. You'll still be wearing scarves and jackets in April. Also when it gets hot, it gets really hot. My main issue however isn't the weather itself. It's the university not cancelling classes when needed be. Roads can be shut down from being iced over, water mains broken, and electricity lost but Clemson will NOT seem to cancel classes for any good reason!

There are a decent amount of computers scattered around campus, but as you would assume during midterms and finals week people are pretty much sleeping at the computers, so finding one is pretty difficult, but that's at any school. Clemson however has an app that you can download that will tell you how many computers in which lab are available to keep you from walking around campus in endless circles. The only reason I'm not giving it an A is because of printing. I have no idea why Clemson continues to use these ginormous printers from the 80's. A lot of them either stop working all the time, so they take your money AND you have to reprint, or they take 20 minutes to warm up. A true inconvenience.

As a predominately white university in the south, some may at first view Clemson as to possibly being a place that doesn't welcome diversity, be it that in SC there is still much racism present and being fought. However, as an African-American woman at Clemson, I've never been on a campus that felt more like home. Ethnic diversity is encouraged and forums on racial equality, religious tolerance, etc. are constantly held to promote cultural awareness and acceptance. There are moments when I have experienced racism on campus but those moments are few and far between.

Clemson focuses on the more technical field (science, math, engineering) than on humanities. I still am grateful for the choice I made but having better programs for English majors would be a plus.

Financial aid at Clemson is sub par. They are not very helpful in that department and rarely offer students what they need (not even for the students that deserve it). They also do not offer and scholarhips that students can apply for directly -- eveything is handed to a couple lucky stdents. Finacial aid at Clemson is a hassle, and it involves a lot of waiting.

Greek life is Clemson is slightly annoying. Most students are involved in Greek life because there is nothing better to do. It is rare to see students not in a Greek letter shirt. Although Greek life is a large componenet of Clemson, most students are very nice and everyone is pretty accepting of others.

The weather in Clemson is dry. In the summer there is an extremely dry heat with no breeze. It rarely rains which is a pro, but when it does, there is a presistant mist all day long. In the summer there is also lots of pollen, and everything outside is yellow. The winter is pretty cold and slightly surprising for South Carolina.

Guys & Girls:
There are all kinds of students at Clemson, and not everybody is from the South. The majority of the students are very smart and look well put together. Greek life is popular at Clemson as well.

There are quite a few majors here although future engineers are high in number on the campus.

Clemson is such a small town with just about every surrounding store polished with the school colors(orange).I can feel the school spirit everywhere.

Certain classes may give you a challenge but talking with your professors and taking advantage of tutoring opportunities can always help.

The main sport which is the most supported is football. Football is really big here and I feel like it overshadows all the other sports. The football experience here is amazing but I just wish the other sports had the same appreciation.

The academics are a great test of your knowledge and can most of the time make you think long and hard about a certain subject but with the right resources and help success can be achieved.
