This is my first University program and it is very close knit. I enjoy the feeling of being welcome and have not met a discouraging face. The academic programs are rigorous and challenging but with good guidance from the professors so it's not too difficult. I enjoy living off campus-but I do not feel out of touch because I am still close.

It depends on who you surround yourself with, I have had minimal experience, but I keep busy so I cannot accurately describe this.

Health & Safety:
I feel secure as I walk around campus-although the parking lots seem isolated many Emergency Buttons are available. I have never felt threatened or the urge to press them but I assume that they work well with timely responses.

we were required to purchase a particular computer at a very reasonable cost. All necessary software etc was loaded onto the system before it reached me. I have not encountered any problems with the network and wi-fi is not only available on campus but all throughout the town.

There are a ton of convienences within walking distance and our CAT bus runs all over the area including off campus university housing. This makes everyday transportation easy. Most of the time my car stays parked all week. However, I do need my car to go home since it is 5 hours away but I have found others to ride share. Even though I use my car I have been able to recoup some travel expenses by dropping others off in towns along my route home.

There are plenty of activities available for all ages, from on campus activities to those held off campus, as well as those associated with fraternities.

The Greek life is great here. There are a lot of activities they do and they are a heavy influence on the campus. I would definitely recommend joining though, especially as a girl, because it is a huge help with making friends. I didn't join a sorority and it has definitely been a struggle to fit in here.

I have an outstanding adviser here which makes everything a lot easier than I would have expected. I'm going into marketing and everything has been almost effortless. They place you in a business 101 class during your first year and from there you choose what major you want. Marketing is a little harder to get into than the others so you do have to maintain that 3.0 but overall, the business program here knows what they're doing.

My program is absolutely PHENOMENAL here at Clemson! I am in the Animal Science program, studying my Pre-veterinary course work. I have worked with a variety of animals already, and I am only a Freshman. The staff involved are great, too, and have your best interests in mind, always. There are tons of jobs on the farms here, and internships abound for animal science majors.

Guys & Girls:
Well...I don't really look at my school for the people, other than the fact that the diversity is great, and you can find people to be friends with whether you're into the "party scene" or if you're simply looking to hang out and make friends. I love the people I meet, and there is no generalization to be made.

The team support, and the enthusiasm of sports here is great. There is nothing like attending a Clemson University football game in Death Valley! The gym, Fike, is also fantastic for those who participate in sports, for the facility is overflowing with training and workout equipment. Also, availability and price of tickets is phenomenal.

Though off campus choices are good, parking is terrible. The choices, however, are fantastic, and there are some decent prices, much better than the cost of living on campus

Weather is almost always gorgeous with few rainy days. The campus is beautiful in the fall, spring, and summer.

There are some extremely great dorms at Clemson (i.e. Clemson House, Stadium Suites-->where you can have your own bathroom) and there are also very gross dorms. Usually the boys get the grossest ones. There isn't much middle ground - either the dorm is nice or the dorm is crappy.

Clemson sends out emails every so often about people being arrested for drug related charges. If people are doing drugs at Clemson, however few, they are caught and reprimanded for these actions.

There are many reasonable locations right near campus (i.e. subway, pita pit, chipotle) that offer reasonable student discounts. However, I cannot STAND the bar scene near Clemson. The bars are trashy, underwhelming, and reek of garbage. The only place that isn't too big of a chain that I can praise is a place called Spill the Beans. This place is low key and run by students.

The cat bus around Clemson and outlying areas is really good. Buses run about every 15 minutes. Also, smaller buses are available around campus, even late at night. You can call to be picked up if you need it. Very safe.

I do not plan to have an internship because I'm graduating in three years and didn't have time to enjoy a semester-long hands-on experience somewhere else. However, I have heard that the internships under faculty and creative inquiry groups cover almost every topic you can think of, and it's easy to find one that pertains to what you wish to study

The workload for Clemson's science department is very heavy. Anatomy and physiology courses as well as biochemistry and cell biology are very demanding in terms of volume of information, but the material is extremely interesting and makes it all worth it. the instructors are very knowledgeable and passionate about their classes and the biology classes are all relative to each other so that many topics overlap for easy understanding.

I had no problems getting into my Biology major and the professors and department heads made it very easy to register for classes and lay out the curriculum of the classes I would need to sign up for. The professors since then have been extremely helpful and nurtured my love of science and biology to prepare me for medical school.

I am fully prepared for my entrance into graduate school because Clemson prepared me so well!

Clemson gives a huge amount of scholarships to in-state students but I am out of state, so I had to pay out of pocket when I would have had a full ride if I was in-state. I believe that Clemson should give a higher proportion of scholarship money to out-of-state students since so many of our student body is not from SC.

The Campus Housing for Clemson is average and is what a college freshman would expect upon entering college.

Much of the financial aid at Clemson is spent on athletes which is frustrating at times.

What Nightlife? Downtown Clemson has three bars all of which are extremely crowded on weekends. These bars are also strictly 21 and up. The under 21 scene is mainly Frat parties which are difficult to attend if you do not participate on Greek life.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
