I like living on campus. Benet Hall is one of the shoeboxes and is a great recommendation for incoming freshman. The worst option is Johnstone. The atmosphere is very southern fraternity/sorority.

It is a quiet college town away from the big city atmosphere. Very easy to fall in love with!

Parking for on campus students is very inconvenient to get off campus

Clemson is a beautiful, southern town. The weather is very nice and the seasons changing are a very beautiful view around campus.

The computers are awesome because every student on campus has wireless. The reliability is great and fast. Clemson has printers at various locations for students. It is good to have your own computer, but if not Clemson has plenty.

The parking at Clemson is good because there is always a place to park. Many people don't get fined and having a car is based on the student's need.
College Sophomore 2013-01-03T22:05:36Z
The parties and other activities at Clemson are safe and Clemson has a policy for underage students which all students are aware of. There is a transit bus to take students to their destinations and back.
College Sophomore 2013-01-03T20:56:00Z
Transportation is excellent at Clemson. There are shuttle buses running all day. The transit runs in the evenning and at night from 6pm to 6am. All students have to do is call and the bus will be there in at least five minutes.

Students get along really good whether they are a Greek or not because students who are not Greeks are friends Greeks. Greeks and non-Greeks have class together and stay in the same dorm so, there is a friendly atmosphere.

Parking is good. Students can allows find somewhere to park there cars whether it's for an hour or four hours. The parking lots are also safe because there is always security.

The program is difficult, but the payoff should be great. The engineering program at Clemson is well-known and respected. There are many different kinds of engineering you can choose to study, as well as concentrations within some of those categories. The workload is pretty heavy. The facilities are spread out over campus and are in plenty. There are great resources for the engineering students at Clemson.
College Junior 2012-12-31T01:38:48Z
There are a good bit of people who drink underage and smoke weed. I don't mind too much if people drink underage, but it gets to the point where their immaturity causes them to put themselves in dangerous situations.
College Junior 2012-12-31T01:34:28Z
The campus is not too strict, but rather I would say reasonable. They do not allow alcohol or guns on campus. The police force is somewhat strict about minor driving offenses, even when new students who don't know the campus roads make honest mistakes.

Okay, Clemson isn't on the same level as Harvard and Yale, obviously. However, as far as public universities go, it is one of the best. The curriculum is challenging, the professors are typically knowledgeable from what I have seen, and the workload is significant. The engineering and agriculture programs are definitely substantial.

Clemson is a college town mainly because a majority of the people in Clemson attend Clemson University. Downtown Clemson is a nice place to go if you want to hang out with your friends and have a nice meal. Personally I recommend Brioso's, our Italian restaurant, they have the best pasta around. There are not many universities nearby, except for Furman University, but that is forty-five minutes away in Greenville. Overall Clemson is a nice place to go, especially if you are not a city person.

The parking at Clemson is not that bad. I am just a freshman and I live next to the stadium which has multiple parking lots that are available for use so there is no shortage of paring. The same goes for the parking lots near the classes and on the other side of campus. So long as you keep looking, you will always find a spot. The only times it will be extremely hard to park are on football game days, but those are only in the fall and on Saturdays so it doesn't affect the class flow that much.

The way the athletic program is run supports sportsmanship on and off the field in both the players and the students/fans. For each football game every student has a chance to receive a ticket and to attend the game. The same goes for all of the other sports, whether the sports are at the varsity, club, or intramural level. As a part of a club sport at Clemson I can personally say that Clemson as a whole supports us and every other sport on campus and that is something that is always nice to have.

I received an out-of-state waiver for tuition based on my SAT scores, which was very helpful and influential in my decision to attend Clemson University. However, I have been disappointed with the lack of any other scholarships available for out-of-state students to apply for. There are many for in-state residents, but as an out-of-state student I would like the chance to compete for more scholarships.

The dining halls are nothing special, just your average fare for each meal with a deli line, pizza, a salad bar, and several "home style" options. There are some non-dining hall places where you can't use your meal plan but which are pretty decent. The Canteen located in the Union has Chick-fil-A which is very popular. Also, there is a Subway and Papa Johns in the Hendrix student center, also well-liked food options. There is also a Chili's to go next to Harcombe dining hall. Overall, the food options are pretty decent.

Off campus dining is not the best at Clemson, but its nothing to be ashamed of either. There are several bars downtown, which are typical hangout spots on the weekends. Also downtown, there are a few nice sandwich shops including Groucho's Deli, Pot Belly Deli, and the Pita Pit. Clemson has a wonderful selection of coffee shops; Spill the Beans has a wide selection of blended coffees as well as delicious ice cream with your choice of toppings mixed in. Brioso's is also a wonderful italian restaurant, also located downtown.

Clemson University offers a wide variety of majors and boasts top-notch facilities and faculty. All of my professors have been easy to talk to. They have all been very accommodating and seem very interested that their students receive a quality education. Most of my classes are relatively small, enabling the professor to really connect with students on a personal, first-name level. The opportunities to study abroad or intern are endless and extremely easy to discover. Also, the cooperative education program has impressed me with its breadth of scope, large selection of employers, and helpful representatives at Clemson.

I'm in the College of Engineering and Science and my major is Mechanical Engineering. So far, I have been impressed with the level of academic excellence demonstrated by my professors. They have been very accommodating and likable, and always make an effort to get to know students by name. The professors are also extremely knowledgeable and well-respected in their field. One of the professors actually wrote the textbook used for my Statics and Dynamics class. Overall, the Mechanical Engineering faculty is accomplished, knowledgable, and diligent to ensure that their students receive a top-quality education at Clemson.

The professors are usually very willing to help and talk to you about your grades. The workload usually is not too bad and the curriculum is challenging yet not impossible.
College Sophomore 2012-12-23T22:28:10Z
The academics at Clemson is very good. Like all schools, some classes are more challenging than others. Some also require less work then others. However, the academics are very good and fairly challenging.

Unless you are hanging out with people using drugs, there is not really a drug scene at Clemson. Yeah, it can be found if you look hard enough but it is not huge. Drinking is more common.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
