Can't Wait for Football! Clemson football is definitely a one of a kind experience! I've become friends with many of the athletes and they are all very personable and intelligent, not to mention talented! Clemson is also known for its awesome baseball team. Its always a treat to grab some snacks and watch them play in the springtime.

Every class I have taken has had a very diverse group of students and teachers involved in the learning process. There are many churches affiliated with Clemson University as well as the surrounding areas around campus that provide a place for every student to fit in.

Health & Safety:
Never Fear! Most of the girls keep their doors unlocked on the hall and none of us have ever had a problem with things being stolen. On my walk back to my dorm during the late hours in the night, I find police cars parked all over campus and street lights all around me that make the walk less scary. People are very friendly and open around campus, so I feel quite safe making new friends and living with peers.

Good, Need Better Facility, Join Clubs – Could probably learn more. Mainly need experience, don't use much of what you learn in this major. The civil engineering building needs to be redone. They keep re-doing food places so that they can get money, and don't focus on the academic facilities. Teachers are pretty good, and workload is manageable. May be hard to find a job. Join clubs to make connections. That's your best chance.

Tiger Pride – Varsity sports are a really big deal on campus. Everyone is really supportive of our team, and the players are like campus celebrities, we all get excited when we spot one of them. In short, no matter what the sport or whether it's varsity or intramural, the students really bleed purple and orange at Clemson University.

Sciences Are Favored, but Arts Are Good Also – The Michelin Career center can help you in where to look after school. I am a history major, and will probably end up teaching, so my process will be easy. With some of the more specific majors, that is a good place to start.

Fall and Spring – Fall is great, it will be hot when you get to school but when it is 70 in November you will find it well worth it. Didn't see a snowflake last winter but temps hit low 30s a few times. Spring started in March and it was beautiful until the end of class in May.

Rigorous Depending on Major – Most internships are business and engineering. Clemson Ag or Engineering looks good when trying to land an internship in the south.

Its Good to Be Lucky – Dorms vary drastically around Clemson. For the room itself, Clemson House is the nicest, followed by Brynn Mall (Horseshoe), then Shoeboxes, and the worst is Johnstone. Upperclass dorms Stadium Suites and Lightsey are great, and thornhill is actually a cool little spot. The prices are similar, but location wise, the horseshoe is awesome.

True College Town – The town of Clemson is small, but if you like the feel of the University and the student body, you will like the town. They are basically one in the same. Atmosphere in the fall is unbeatable, especially when the football team is on a roll. There also a few hidden gems of restaurants if you can venture beyond walking distance.

College Town – Clemson is located in "the middle of nowhere", but that doesn't mean you have to drive for an hour to find something to do. Clemson University makes an effort to provide activities on campus. We have bands perform throughout the year. Also, we have festivals frequently; for instance, once a year, we have the international fest. Students and faculty from countries throughout the world get together to sell food and perform dances from their homeland.
Off campus, we have "downtown" Clemson, a small town next to the university. It has restaurants, bars, and clubs. It also has some great (and reasonably-priced) boutiques. The downtown is really geared toward students. Business owners love students.
Overall, Clemson's atmosphere is awesome.

Home Sweet Home – Clemson is my home away from home. I absolutely adore CU. Everyone is incredibly friendly, and as corny as it sounds, we are a family. One of my favorite moments at Clemson has been gameday Saturdays. Fall Saturdays are full of tailgating and cheering for your team with 80,000 of your closest friends. Another great part of Clemson is the academic atmosphere. Students really understand that the primary reason you are at school is to get an education. The fun yet studious atmosphere makes for a great college experience.

Helpful Assistance – I am planning on having an internship with Michelin in Silver Springs, SC and then in Paris, France. If I were to change my mind, though, I believe that I would get one easily. Clemson's Michelin Career Center helps students daily with resumes, applications, interviews, and more. Also, faculty are willing to help you to find internships.

Hard but Useful – I am a chemical engineering major, and it is the hardest major on campus. While I find the courswork challenging, I believe that it is preparing me well for field work. I intend to work on alternative fuels for automobiles, and I am not concerned about finding work. Clemson's chemical engineers almost always graduate with a number of job offers.
College Junior 2012-08-09T00:46:34Z
Chemical Engineering – The chemical engineering program at Clemson is exceptional. The professors are very knowledgable in their specialization of Chem E. One of the best parts of being a chemical engineer at Clemson is the opportunity for internships and jobs in the surrounding area. Clemson is nicely situated near a number of major chemical engineering firms. It gives a unique advantage for our students.

Everyone Is Part Jock – Athletic participation, from varsity football all the way down to intramural softball, is a huge part of the Clemson experience. Football games are by far the biggest event in the area, and expect the campus to draw an extra 100K+ on gamedays. I would estimate that nearly 75% of students are directly involved in athletics in some way, and many more are employed as referees and by Fike rec center.

Hard Drugs Are Rare – Alcohol is definitely the lifeblood of most of Clemson's nightlife, expect bars and even some restaurants to shut down around ten for minors. You hear about some usage of cocaine, ecstasy, roofies and even mushrooms in several fraternities. Weed use is common but not a majority. Expect any dorm room "busts" to come from noise violations or blatantly dumb acts. Heard of very few incidences of drug overdose.

Good, but Not Enough Close by – There are some very good spots for eats in downtown Clemson for both fast food and sit down restaurants. Loose Change is a can't miss in terms of tasty bar food, and The Blue Heron is a favorite for family visit dinners and dates. A big problem is the lack of availability of food just outside the Clemson area. Several area favorites, including The Smoking Pig Barbecue, are simply not reachable unless you have a car.

Clemson University, although is known for its Agriculture and Engineering programs, is very diverse. We're a diverse group of Caucasian, African-American, Indian, Jamaican, and Asian. There are a few others sprinkled around. We are mostly known for our "white" kids but after a walk through campus, you'll soon see that we are more than just a parade of snow. Clemson University is a great place to be and we welcome diversity.
College Senior 2012-08-07T16:34:48Z
Parking sucks around Clemson. The parking people are the worst, they will try and get you for every little thing, no matter what. If you do not have a sticker on your car, you will get a ticket, if it is not where it should be located on your car, you will get a ticket, if you are not allowed to park in a green or orange spot with no sticker showing you can park there, you will get a ticket; it goes on and on...trying to find a parking spot can be pretty bad as well depending on what time your classes are, especially for students living off campus, which is why most students take the bus so they do not have to worry about trying to find a spot.

Barely Hear of Drugs Being Used on Campus – Drinking is more popular but you barely hear of drugs being used, I have heard of some people doing pot but that is about it and also smoking and dip but nothing else.

My Second Home – Clemson University is my second home. I transferred here last year and I fell in love with the place. The scenery is amazing and so are the people you meet. The professors are even better, they make sure you understand the material and try their best at teaching it but also making sure you are having a good time, they take the time to help us students out, no matter what. The programs are awesome and provide everything you need. Football is the big thing here so you better go to the games and have a good time but you also need to study!!!

Persistence Is Key – As a transfer student, I wasn't eligible to receive any Clemson scholarships until I earned several credits through the school. This prompted me to start my private scholarship search. It is important to follow up with the Financial Aid office to attempt to get resolution regarding your package in a reasonable amount of time for you to be able to secure a plan to pay for school.

I LOVE MY PROGRAM (Comp Sci) – The best thing about my program is that we have tons of opportunities for computer science majors. I am doing the digital production arts program, which is animation. I wanted something artsy, mathematical, and scientific. It's perfect for people like me!
