Affordable and Nice! I am living off-campus next year and am super-pumped. Compared to my friends at other universities that lived off campus the off campus housing at Clemson is way better. The rent is usaually individual which means if one roommate decides not to return you are not all screwed. Also, they are very resonably priced (cheaper than on-campus), all have pools, and you live in a complex with all Clemson students so it still have that campus feel.

I think the weather at Clemson is A W E S O M E, but I am also from Vermont which has some of the worst weather in the country. Last year it was unusually rainy in the fall, but I heard from locals that that is unusual weather. It rarely snows, so you can wear cute outfits throughout the winter, however classes never get cancelled, because there is no snow.

While fraternity parties are the big hit at Clemson, there are still great options for non-greeks who are sick of the dorm party scene. Downtown is great if you're over 21, or you're over 21 on the weekends (if you know what I mean), but if you're under 21 Flip Flops always has good local and more popular bands and you can get in even if you're only 18.

A Short Walk from Campus: Downtown Tiger Town – The only reason I rate off-campus dining is because tigertown, while wonderful, is small, so there are only a handful of restaurants. However, every single restaurant is awesome. If you're looking for something cheap and quick Moe's or Pita Pit is for you. A nicer option, yet perfectely inexpensive for poor college students, is Brioso's. There are also town favorites like Wingin' It and Tiger Town Tavern.

Ticket Time – The parking at Clemson has its moments. If you get lucky and find a good spot you better walk everywhere else so you don't lose it. There is very little parking unless you park out in some field. Also, the campus police patrols the area non stop so if you're even a minute late, you can expect a ticket.

Guys & Girls:
Got a 4 Wheel Drive – The guys are Clemson come in all shapes and sizes from all over the country, but in general, the stereotype for Clemson would be good ol' country boys. They drive big trucks, wear camo hats, and love their football. Most are true Southern gentleman that any girl would love to be around.

The Wireless World – In a day where we as Americans are finding ways to use wireless technology in nearly every aspect of our lives, the days of plugging your computer into a jack are long gone. Long gone as long as you are not in Liberty Residence Hall at College of Charleston, that is. The college does have WiFi around campus, but it can often times be patchy or not work al all, especially during finals. And the internet in the dorms isn't much better. With no WiFi access, students are forced to use the wall jacks and no matter where you are in the dorm, you must be plugged in. i found this an extreme turnoff and inconvenience.

Clemson brings internship possibilities to you you don't have to go out looking for them as hard I love the opportunities they provide to excel in you future career.

Underage Drinking – Campus is strict about its drinking policy but only for underage drinkers.

Freshman Dorms Are Great! and upperclassmen dorms are even better (especially the apartments)

Good Quality – Clemson does the best they can to make sure facilities are clean and useable.

If you want a chance to use a computer on campus, get an early start. Most of the labs computers are filled, especially around peak class times.

Locals BREATHE Clemson University. There is a lot of school spirit from the neighboring communities.

Parking Services is the WORST. They will give you tickets for the smallest of things. Be sure to get to campus at least 30 minutes before your class to ensure you'll get a space.

There have only been a few incidents with drugs at Clemson. And each situation had been handled properly.

Health & Safety:
Health and Safety – The health and safety of the students at Clemson is taken very seriously. The Student Health Center sends out notifications the very SECOND a virus could be likely to spread, or if there is some sort air contamination, etc. The police department also sends out TEXT alerts if there is a crime, an incident or anything type of event that jeopardizes the safety of students.

Sports Are Important – Clemson is very proud of their football and basketball teams. There is nothing like tailgating at Death Valley on a Saturday during football season. The crowd and enthusiasm is immense. Students camp out for tickets and the pride of the Clemson Tigers shows.

It can be a struggle to find off campus housing. Most apartments are fairly expensive and don't allow pets, which is a huge factor for my friends and me. There is plenty of housing but you have to be quick if you want a nice place to live.

Good but Unhealthy – There is always lots to choose from but most of it is pretty unhealthy. I won't buy a large meal plan next year because I want to try and eat at home, which tends to be healthier than eating at the dining halls.

CAT Bus – The CAT bus runs from nearly all off-campus apartments to campus. The bus also runs from the parking lots to the center of campus to help commuters who drive to campus. The best part, however, is that the bus runs at night from the bars downtown to many of the off-campus apartment complexes. It's free, but it can get a little crowded. Also, the buses run into almost all of the neighboring cities which is convenient for shopping and running errands. Also, campus police run an escort service at night. All you have to do is call and they will pick you up anywhere on campus (including parking lots) and take you anywhere else on campus.

Clemson is definitely a college town and caters to college nightlife. There are tons of bars downtown and even several bar crawls which students can participate in each year. However, for those unwilling or unable to go downtown, there are plenty of apartment parties and Greek parties which can also be really fun. Plus the transportation system makes it easy to travel when you shouldn't be driving. However, the real party is tailgating season. Clemson loves football, but we really love to tailgate.

Study Abroad – Clemson encourages study abroad and ethnic diversity besides those ethnicities typical in the United States. By interacting with study abroad students who are attend the university, students have the opportunity to expand their horizons globally. Furthermore, Clemson encourages students to go abroad themselves and offers many channels through which students can take advantage of this opportunity.

It's Pretty Hot in the Spring/Summer Months and Chilly in the Fall/Winter Months. The weather here is pretty reasonable and normal if you are from around here. If you enjoy warm weather this is the place for you!
