College Prowler Take

Most students find themselves ready to make the move off campus by their junior and senior years. After dealing with RAs and small living quarters, students agree that off-campus apartments are a great alternative. Most seem to think that a lot of the apartments are close enough to campus that living off campus does not inconvenience them.

Off-campus housing is popular and convenient, and campus transportation runs to or near all apartment complexes in the area. Some apartments are even within short walking distance of campus. When deciding where to live during your time at Clemson, you should definitely consider some of the off-campus housing options available.

Absolutley worth it! You have your own room and bathroom (depending on where you live) and more than likely, you sign an individual, nine-month lease, so you don't have to worry about everyone else's rent, only your own! The apartment complexes are full of Clemson students, they provide extra ammentities, and they are never more than a bus ride away!

Clemson has great off-campus housing! It's affordable and within reasonable distance to the campus (an average of five miles or less). Just be careful during football season and school breaks; people tend to rob apartments more during this time because they know college students won't be home.

Definitely live on-campus freshman year, but after that, off-campus housing is definitely worth it. There are plenty of off-campus houses in walking distance, and there are lots of apartment complexes that are close, too.

There are a ton of off-campus apartments to choose from, and junior and senior year, that is what most people do. It’s definitely worth it, after a couple of years of RAs, dining halls, and shower shoes, who doesn’t want an apartment?

It’s hard to get off-campus housing close to campus that’s nice. Plus, it’s a lot more expensive. If you have to drive to campus, you have to leave at least 20 minutes before your classes start to account for driving time, finding a place to park, and walking to your building. It’s worthwhile because you can get a lot more space and have a lot more freedom. I recommend renting a house instead of apartments.
