Co-Ops Offer Real Experience

This school is big with its extraordinary amount of things you can do to help your resume. The michelin career center does a great job providing opportunities for those interested. You just gotta make sure you look.

Only for Instate Students

It is really hard for out of state people to get any scholarship money. A lot of South Carolina residents get money though.

The Clemson Family

Going to school at Clemson University has been such a good experience so far. At such a large school, its surprising that you still get a family vibe. The entire town is involved in the school, especially sports. There are so many interesting people from all over the world doing amazing things here. its a great place to be.

So Many Options

Mainly, football season. It is incredible, nothing like being in Clemson on game day. It is really something to experience. There are so many academic programs available; you can basically do anything here. There are so many people that you are bound to find people just like you, no matter what you are interested in. You will find life-long friends here.

Scholarships at Clemson

It seems like almost all of my friends who are in-state have South Carolina scholarships. It is much less common for out of state students to get a good scholarship if they are an above average student. If you do really well in college, they might give you a very small scholarship for the next year. It's also hard to get financial aid unless your family is desperate for it.

The Atmosphere of the South

Clemson is the epitome of a sweet, southern town. The locals are accepting of the college students and there are always smiling faces. There are bars downtown as well as several college shops. Sports are popular and football is king around here. The town lights up on weekends when there is a football game, and there is nothing like a Clemson football game. There could be more to do, but you can find tons of fun things to do.

Show up

Some of the games are good, but if the team doesn't show up to play then there isn't a game. The fan environment is great through.

Friendly and Attractive People

Students tend to dress very preppy, even to the football games. People are friendly for the most part. There's always parties to go to except for guys if you aren't in a fraternity.

Diveristy

Clemson's campus is fairly diverse. There is an obvious minority among the students but nobody is treated unfairly and there is often cultural events to raise awareness.

Pretty Serious About the Rules

Clemson has strict rules and guidelines about alcohol and drugs. However, minors are given leeway for 2? incidences of being caught with alcohol. I think Clemson is fair about their policies.

I LOVE BEING a TIGER!

My overall experience has been absolutely OUTSTANDING! I would not want to be at any other university. Attending Clemson has got to be one of the most wonderful things I've ever done. The people, the professors, advisors and peers are amazing. I love the sports as well as the clubs and organizations that Clemson has to offer. My school is unique because we are "ALL-IN"! When something is happening on campus, whether athletic or academic, the student body is "ALL-IN", 100% supportive. If I could do my college admission process over, I would certainly choose Clemson University, with only one change: my financial aid award. I would only change the amount of financial assistance I receive as an out-of-state student. Everything else is absolutely fantastic! My heart is bleeding orange and purple and I hope yours will too, if you're considering it!

The Guys Are HOTTT!

Hmm! The guys are absolutely gorgeous! There are a variety of races and ethnicity on campus. On a typical day, guys tend to "dress to impress" or at least show a sense of style. Their interests are mainly sports, and of course maintaining their academic studies. Social life for guys would be hanging with their male friends, going out to parties and probably at some point joining a fraternity. Girls are always on point with their fashion. If you want to gain new tips on fashion, watch your peers. Most females I've encountered are pretty nice and sociable. Same with guys, they enjoy hanging with their girls and attending parties and events. Also, possibly joining a sorority. If a couple were to be on campus, their relationship is probably private, but it's known that they are indeed dating.

Not Very Diverse

This school is primarily made up of white, Christian, straight students. If you don't fit into that mold, you're on the outside. There are some student who can be racist and hateful towards those who are different from them. However, there are many campus-based organizations for students of color and also lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender students that promote diversity.

Certainly Not a Melting Pot

Clemson's campus isn't very diverse. It's really homogenous. The school is quite largely white with sprinkles of other races (the other races being largely black, Indian, Chinese, and Japanese). Most people are protestant Christians, Muslims, or practice no religion. The students largely are politically unengaged and there is very little activism, liberal or conservative, on campus. There are two newspapers, The Tiger and the Tiger Town Observer, the latter is the conservative paper and the former is center right.

Nationally Ranked Athletics

The sports here are crazy. CLemson's population quintuples on Saturdays in the fall. Death Valley is by far the best environment in college football. If you haven't been to a game, make it part of your college tours. It is louder than you can imagine. About 95% of students go to the games. There are always those that don't care for it but those kids are few and far between. Join IPTAY as a freshman so you don't have to sit in the Upper Deck though. Stand on the Hill for a game, its a great experience. Basketball is almost as popular as football. When Duke and UNC come to town, Littlejohn is deafening, great atmosphere. Baseball is in the Top 25 almost every year. Baseball in the spring in Clemson... you can't beat it. Volleyball is also pretty popular. Soccer is fun when we are playing conference games. Our golf team is usually nationally ranked. One of our sports wins a conference championship every year.

Clemson has a huge amount of diversity and different cultural thoughts.

Here at Clemson are some of the most attractive human beings on the planet. There are a variety of looks and personalities to match just about anybody from a different country. Everybody has their own preference so if interested come to Clemson and "Take a Peek"

Diversity

At Clemson everyone accepts everyone no exceptions. Everybody has their own personal challenges so as Clemson students we tend to help each other so that we will all be able to walk across the stage together.

Social Scene

The majority of students are into partying. Many students are greek, but whether you're male or female, it will change your experience. If you're male and don't rush your freshman year, chances are you'll be looking for stuff to do on weekends and unless you know an upperclassman, you may not find much to do, as you're only welcome at fraternity parties during rush week (fall and spring). After your freshman year, however, it's much easier to find parties to go to because even if you don't live off campus, chances are a bunch of your friends do. You just have to get through freshman year.

As a girl, being greek is not all that important. A large portion of the female population is greek, however there is not much you cannot partake in if you're not. The only thing you cannot participate in are sorority events, which include mixers with other sororities/fraternities, and Greek Week. Coming from someone who is not in a sorority, yet has 2 greek roommates, I can tell you that they both love their sorority, but they find themselves hanging out with many people from both different sororities and who are not in them.

Many Outdoor Opportunities

Clemson offers many unique opportunities because of its superior location. Its adjacency to the mountains and lake offer opportunities to hike, swim, camp out. There are also many green spaces on campus which provide room for athletics.

Pretty Diverse

The following races are readily seen at Clemson: whites, blacks, asians, and indians. Races are mingled together in both living spaces and classrooms.

Bars and Fast Food

The only thing Clemson has is bars and fast food. There are no unique, one of a kind restaurants that cities have. Its very boring and you know you're in a college town because of it.

Clemson Academics Summary

The professors I have had so far have been really great, and are always willing to help out and meet with you outside of class. They are also really nice whenever I have spoken with them outside of an academic setting. My work load so far has been pretty heavy, but definitely manageable. Registering for classes hasn't been difficult. If I didn't get the exact class I wanted, there are plenty of other options to fulfill a requirement, and the class request process is worth while. The best place to study is in the library. There is lots of space for student to study, whether you are with a talkative group, or if you need silence. Most students are respectful of other student in the library.

Visit often and understand what your getting into.

Before you come here really visit and ask questions. This is just my opinion, but this place gets very monotonous. I stuck it out for 2 years and am transferring. I wish I had transferred last year but I wanted to be really sure. The people are great but there is nothing to do other then frat parties. There are a lot more northerners and that's great for diversity but not what I was looking for in a southern school. Really think about what you want in a school before you make such a long term decision.

Ticketing and Fines

Parking is terrible and the parking enfocement goes crazy with tickets. Your car can be in the wrong spot for about ten minutes before a parking enforcement guys comes and sticks a ticket on your windshield. They will still ticket you even if you are just unloading your car or something simple liek that.
