College Prowler Take
CAT buses are the most useful public transportation resource in the Clemson area. The buses run regularly everywhere in the area, and students find them to be reliable and convenient. Students give the public transportation so much praise that they say cars are unnecessary at Clemson. With such a good bus system, having a car is not necessary and only brings on additional costs and liabilities. The buses go anywhere you will ever need to be in the local area, and best of all, it’s free. With such a difficult parking situation on campus, riding on the CAT will save you time and, more importantly, money.

CAT (Clemson Area Transit) buses...
CAT (Clemson Area Transit) buses are free public transportation that runs around campus and to surrounding areas. The routes are pretty good because they hit most of the off-campus student apartments. They also go to Anderson and Seneca, which makes it possible to get around and do shopping if you don't have a car. The bus goes to and from commuter parking lots and the main parts of campus, but they are very crowded around class times and can be inconvenient because of timing.

Public transportation makes it...
Public transportation makes it very easy for students to get around—there are bus stops located all over campus near all the important and most frequented places. Buses come every 15 minutes or so, and they are very reliable—they make drop-offs and pick-ups at scheduled times before and after classes. |

We have CAT buses, which provide free transportation all over campus. I assume they are convenient, but it’s really just as easy to walk; you can get from one end of campus to the other in about 15 minutes. |

The CAT bus is tremendously useful, especially the weekend NightCAT, which is basically like a large, glorified taxi! |
