Certainly Not a Melting Pot

Clemson's campus isn't very diverse. It's really homogenous. The school is quite largely white with sprinkles of other races (the other races being largely black, Indian, Chinese, and Japanese). Most people are protestant Christians, Muslims, or practice no religion. The students largely are politically unengaged and there is very little activism, liberal or conservative, on campus. There are two newspapers, The Tiger and the Tiger Town Observer, the latter is the conservative paper and the former is center right.

Parking and Beer

The police force is very strict about parking. If you are a first time offender you can go to the police station on campus and get your first ticket canceled. Make sure to move your car when they tell you to for sports games, concerts and whatever else otherwise you can and will be towed. It's apparently very easy to get drinks onto campus. Depending on where you are and who your RA is, you can have drinks very easily. There's a policy where if someone gets wasted and needs to be hospitalized, if you call for help, neither you nor the person needing help will be punished. Getting into bars downtown is hard, so don't try.

Drinking

There is an extreme amount of drinking due to the high influence of greek life. A lot of people also smoke weed.
