Tuition & Financial Aid:
I have gotten way more financial aid then I anticipated for for sure. I was concerned with the cost but when I went to pay it was only $16!!!! I am constantly receiving money from grants and things! I am not really sure why they keep sending me money, but they are.

I have had a really difficult time with the course load, but i had to expect that taking 18 units. Its all really about time management and dedication. The teachers don't really remind you when things are due and you need to stay on top of all your stuff. Other teachers are more useful than others but you will get that anywhere!

AMAZING flexibility. They have classes every hour of the day until 10pm and even a few friday/saturday classes. And of course Coastline is known as the OC's king of online community college.

Many Mac computers available to use on campus though alot of non-academic websites are blocked (facebook, twitter). Printing is .25 a page too which is not too bad since most of the classes I've experienced don't require many papers. I only had 4 papers to write for my year long english comp class for example. Pretty good for a junior college

There are many helpful "bridge" transfer programs like the STAR program where students can be transfer ready in 3.5 (fulltime) semesters. Makes it possible to aspire to transfer to a University such as Cal state Fullerton.

Very diverse student body. For example. in my Chemistry class I heard students speaking Chinese and Arabic. Also, the majority of the student body are non-traditional students who work/have families. Despite all that, most of the students are friendly and helpful. Many of the TA's and professors are of diverse ethnicities so they are very helpful to the non-caucasion students.

There is a good mix of students at Coastline. Many using online courses and are working professionals but there are just as many attending on campus with a wide range of ages and demographics.

The layout is alot more free formed than classes I've taken in the past and easier to keep up with. The teachers are accessible and extremely knowledgeable.

I liked my teacher but for an anatomy class there were not a lot of models available.

Coastline provides a small computer lab in the Newport and Je Lao campuses but their is no freedom. You must sign up before going inside the room and must write down what subject you will be working on. On the other hand they do provide wireless Internet so you can bring any personal device to work on whatever you need to do. For printing on campus you are only allowed to print a max of 2 sheets and that is it.

I really enjoy attending coastline because the class size for most courses are fairly small compared to other colleges. Their is a bit of workload but it's manageable. Instructors at coastline, in my experience, have been great help. It also helps that the class size aren't big so asking a question in the middle of a lecture is always accepted without hesitation.

Coastline campuses provide a student resource center where you can find a tutor for free and have a quiet place to study and work on homework. They also have a virtual library that is always open for registered students. This library is a great help for English classes.

Work load is a lot but manageable. Coastline offers many classes to assist in completing my degree and available counselors to make sure I stay on track.

I love that Coastline has many campuses around Orange County, as well as telecourses and distance learning opportunities. Having one physical location can be limiting, and the fact that they have 4 centers is great.
The telecourses are great! I can be at home with my kids and they have an opportunity to see what Mom is learning. I love how I can set my DVR to record a class if I miss it, or for the opportunity to go back and rewatch it.

Haven't had to use them so not sure how effective.
College Junior 2013-07-09T22:26:53Z
Interaction online is ok. I don't socialize much with other students outside the online discussion boards.

I think the academic experience at Coastline is superb.
College Senior 2013-06-29T22:34:24Z
I am not on campus to be aware of the student body dynamic
College Senior 2013-06-29T22:33:07Z
Not being class navigational savvy during my first foray back to college, I needed to petition a class. The instructor was very welcoming and allowed me into a closed class.
In the first and second class I enjoy the interaction we, the students and instructor, have had. Even though it's through the internet my classmates are fun, informative and encouraging,

By taking classes on line, I don't need to be on campus to access a computer but given access to other resources, I'm sure computer access for other students is excellent
College Senior 2013-06-29T22:26:45Z
As an older adult returning to college I take classes on line. The set up, sign up and the classes themselves are amazingly conveneient
College Senior 2013-06-24T23:44:32Z
The academic flexibility at Coastline is excellent. There are many online classes and in-classes available.
College Senior 2013-06-24T23:43:08Z
My academic experience at Coastline community college is excellent. Class availability is better then surrounding community colleges. The counselors are really helpful in planning for the future also.
