You won't come to Colby and find illicit drugs, at least out in the open. Hard drug use does exist, but it is very, very limited and few and far between. Probably 95 percent of students will never know about or see hard drugs during their time at Colby. Those who want these drugs must look hard to find them because they are practically nonexistent.

However, too much time listening to Phish may have led some Colby students to smoke marijuana, and intense academics can push some people to seek illegal study drugs. Asking around on weekends makes it easy to find pot, whereas study drugs may be harder to find. However, neither of these ever seems like a real threat. And, this is a college, so alcohol use does exist. Many students drink, but many choose not to, and there is no pressure by any means to consume. It is very easy to go through four years here without having one sip of beer and not smoking one joint, but it's also pretty easy to live the opposite lifestyle.

Weekend Drinking

Theres plenty of alcohol. Most drinking and almost all parties are friday and saturday, especially saturday. Marijuana is present and many people are "have smoked" or "occasionally smoke." Not a lot of potheads, but there's plenty to befriend if that's you ;) hallucinogens are hard to come by, but findable. Coke is apparently around among athletes and upper classmen. Plenty of adderoll and the like around of course.

Drugs

The campus has an average drug and alcohol usage. It is not openly visible which students are or are not drinking or doing drugs and the campus security constantly walks around campus to make sure no one is breaking the law of underage drinking.

The drug scene is not apparent at Colby. Some students are involved, but drinking is much more popular.
