Best Place to Take Your ParentsCollege Prowler Take
For a small town, Hamilton offers a surprising array of high quality, tasty choices. Roger’s Deli is a huge favorite for its order-as-you-like-it sandwiches and great prices. Parkside Deli is also popular, though more expensive. They serve meals and salads, in addition to an inventive array of sandwiches. Main Moon, Hamilton’s only Chinese restaurant, is the source of much controversy, as some people swear by its weekend buffet, others swear it causes indigestion. Nichols & Beal is the most popular restaurant, catering to the general public by day, with a variety of creative entrees and sandwiches, and catering to upperclassmen students at night, with a trendy bar and late-night drink specials. Of course, one cannot attend Colgate without loving Slices, the infinitely popular pizza spot that is actually named, but never called, New York Pizzeria. The term “Slices” actually shifts meaning depending on the context, as it can be used to refer to both the restaurant ("I’ll meet you at Slices”), and the individual pie pieces themselves (Let’s order slices for delivery”). So does all this terminology get confusing? Not if you love Slices like Colgate kids do. Slices is a mandatory late night weekend stop, and it’s an awesome place to run into at least five people you know.

I don’t care what they say about Main Moon, I think their food is decent, cheap, and it has never made me sick. |

The off-campus restaurants are okay, but there aren’t many to choose from or a great variety. If you want your basic Wendy’s, good luck (it isn’t anywhere nearby). The existing restaurants have a decent atmosphere and a small-town vibe. |

I’m a big fan of Sushi Blues. The sushi is very high quality, and they have lots of choices on the menu. They’ll even deliver to your dorm. There are two good places to have your parents take you to when they visit—The Tap Room at the Colgate Inn, and Nichols and Beal. |

I particularly like the Seven Oaks Club house restaurant. I think the food is really good, and it’s more reasonably priced than the Colgate Inn or the Hamilton Inn. |
