Facts

Interviews & Information Sessions

The Office of Admission, located up the hill at James B. Colgate Hall, is open during the academic year Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Colgate also offers tours and information sessions on select Saturdays that include an information session with an admission officer, faculty member, and current student. Information sessions last approximately one hour. Registration is encouraged for all campus visits and can be done either online or by phone. While Colgate does not use interviews as part of the application process, informational interviews with current students are available from May of a student’s junior year through December of his or her senior year. Contact the Office of Admission by phone at (315) 228-7401 or email at admission@colgate.edu—with at least three weeks' notice to ensure availability.

Campus Tours

Three sets of student-led tours leave from the Office of Admission each day, Monday through Friday, at 10:30 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. Information sessions are offered twice daily at 9:45 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. Tours last approximately 75 minutes.

Overnight Visits

The Office of Admission offers high school seniors and prospective transfer students the option to stay with a Colgate student overnight. Visits are offered Sunday through Thursday, mid-September to mid-November and from February to early March. To schedule an overnight visit, contact the Office of Admission at (315) 228-7401 at least two weeks in advance.
