Some teachers are hands on and very interested in getting to know their students and helping them succeed. The one criticism I would have to say is that a few courses I have taken are a bit unstructured which makes them hard to follow and pay attention in class.

The online classes were a bit difficult to figure out at first. Once I got the hang of how to use moodle it was easy. The teachers did a good job at staying in contact with me to let me know what assignments were due and when. I took an online computer course there was a lot of work involved but when I had questions the teacher alway responded in a timely manner.

I love studying in College of Alameda because of the great professors! They have been extremely helpful and are always willing to help and sometimes even if it's not during their office hours. They explain the material very well and give a fair amount of work.

The computer labs are okay but need to be updated because some run very slowly. The only printing place on campus is in the library and there are multiple printers, which makes it easy and fast to find a place to print out papers. Students can also conveniently print out classwork in the computer lab. The people in the computer lab are very helpful. There is no network reliability because most of the people who graduate lose touch with the campus.

With online courses it depends on the subject and teacher that the student takes. Some teachers give a real heavy work load and give a lot of helpful feedback so that the student can improve themselves. Other teachers give a heavy work load but no person feedback so it is difficult to then have to go during inconvenient office hours to improve papers. In general the online classes are okay and the website is not difficult to navigate. Sometimes the grades are inaccurate because the system only shows part of the work that gets accounted to the whole grade.

College of Alameda has the best people that help you with any academic programs.. They are very knowledgeable and offer different programs like EOPS to help students. The counselors go above and beyond to help the students make their educational plans to attain academic goals. A good number of people show up to campus events.

The career services at College of Alameda are kind of helpful but needs improvement. The people were friendly but most of the jobs that were posted were for people with bachelor's degrees or I could have gone to another online website to find more jobs. They do have workshops on how to write cover letters and a resume, and they have a section with various books that teach you how to write them.

The facilities of the school and aesthetics of the campus are good. The student center is great because of the friendly people, but the computers need to be updated. The library doesn't have many places to study in, so it's difficult to find a seat during busy times. The good thing about the library is that it is a good working environment and they always have the books available. The people who have the campus activities are great!

I love taking online classes at College of Alameda. They are well organized (for the most part), students are able to discuss course material in forums, and they move swiftly and are easy to navigate.

The student body is extremely diverse. I'd say there are roughly equal numbers of Asian, African American and white students attending classes. There is also a large number of African American professors at the school.

Very flexible schedules are available, but selecting the right class can be difficult, considering different counselors will tell you different things.

The online classes are very convenient but some professors take a while before they respond to your emails.

I think students on my campus are very diverse, there is many different religious and ethnic groups. Most students are open and accepting to groups that differ from their own.

I think it is great, the professors are extremely helpful. The workload is not too much, just enough to build critical skills

Tuition & Financial Aid:
I think the schools tuition is really high especially since there is a very low chance of finding a job in this economy.

There is always more than enough who work in the career center. There is a job for every field. There is a workshop everyday to ensure that your resume is correct and that you have the proper interview skills and how to dress appropriately.

I was shy going to a school I wasn't familiar with and I didn't have much knowledge about college. Coming from Castlemont High School there is a huge difference! I decided to take online classes and it was very pleasant.

The education I am receiving here is worth what I paid but the staff in the administration office are always in a bad mood and will often give a look that says "Why am I working here."

This student body has a variety of diverse people.

There are definitely resources at my campus, but again, its up to the students to get in and get out. We have a computer lab which is convenient if a student is unable to print an assignment at home. We also have a writing center and math lab for students who need a little extra help with their homework. I feel like the resources at the College of Alameda are great, especially the library.

The students that work in the office and around campus can sometimes be a bigger help than a lot of the actual staff. I really like the student body and what they add to the overall experience of learning with your peers on the campus.

The classes vary because of the teachers, but I feel the majority of the time, you get out what you put in. Most of the teachers dont really teach much of a lesson, let alone have the time to hold your hand through out the class. In order to succeed at the COA, it is important for the student to be their own teacher in a way.

I am a Communications major, and a lot of the same teachers are teaching multiple classes. Because of this, I feel like they arent really teaching new material, and instead just twisting some of their other classes material to make it fit a different class. However, there are some great teachers in this study, and I really enjoy their classes as well as their personalities. Some of the classes can be very unorganized, which is a hassle if you're someone like me who loves structure within the classroom. I feel like the rating of a B- is saying a lot for this major at College of Alameda because it is borderline a C+.

Library is open from 8 am until 7pm. Good hours and there are always tutors to help you out. Computer labs are nice and quiet. Not too many group activities on campus but people are nice. There is a small gym that people work out in. No swimming pool or anything. There are women and men's basketball team, women's volleyball team and i think that is about it for the team sports. There are many different physical ed classes.

Fee waivers are very helpful. Never have gotten financial aid before because i am not a citizen but financial aid people are very nice and try their best to help out.
