Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Alcohol and weed are the most common drugs used by students at Charleston, but, as with most college campuses, students who really care about their education will do their best to stay away from anything more serious. Also, like most campuses, it’s not hard for students to find marijuana (it’s practically not even considered "real" drug use) or any other substance they might want to get into.

Many students find that drugs are not a dominant force on campus, despite growing talk that cocaine is becoming a popular accessory to College of Charleston life. Drugs are passed around at parties and are used in the residence halls, but there is no pressure to use them. Alcohol, on the other hand, is a different story. Many students think that getting a little wild with drinking is a normal part of the college experience.

Have a lot of alcohol incidents, pretty common for such an urban campus. No huge drug problems, but such a huge population smokes while walking around. The sidewalks are narrow, so it's kind of hard to get away from. Whatever big problems arise, the police pretty much squash, not much danger from others.

Social Activity

There isn't a huge drug population at College of Charleston. It really depends on who you hang out with. Frat guys are known to have more hard drugs at parties. Drinking is the most popular followed by smoking marijuana.
