Nightlife is for students 21+. They do not suggest partying on campus, however there are some bars and restaurants nearby that are fun. Most of the nightlife takes place downtown, several miles from campus with city taxis able to provide transportation back home.

Public transportation is really good around College of Saint Mary. With many different bus times and schedules, it is easy for students to access a bus when needed.

The drug scene at Boston College is not really big, although it depends on who you hang out with. If people are doing drugs, they're usually just smoking. Drinking is a much more popular activity.

I hear alot of good things about everyone's major. I am a Applied Pschology/Human Services major. I love all of my classes. I want to first be a social worker and then get my Master's and do counseling.

On second floor of Walsh, there are many computer labs. Then there are also computers in the Achievement Center and Library.

There are two bus stops right outside campus. Unless you have to go really far, I suggest using it because it's much cheaper. Also, Wal-mart is within 4 blocks, so most students just walk there and back. CSM does not have a shuttle, but for most school events they provide a bus to get there.

I have noticed it can be hard to recieve aid, however if you stay in touch with them, your advisor and teachers, they will make it happen.

What I think is interesting is that negative student reviews disappear from web pages somehow. ???

In the OT program the students teach the classes and their board pass rate for the last several years sucks! Some students NEVER pass!!! I had to stand there and lecture on how to rehab people with strokes, brain injuries, hip fractures, etc. When I had NO experience rehabbing any of these!

Financial Aid person was great to deal with. Explained everything to me and helped me search for some scholarships.
College Junior 2013-03-10T22:07:16Z
the people who work for financial aid are good at sending you email reminders so that you can get your award letter on time. Most of the students there receive a lot of help so that school can be affordable.

I have not had an internship, but I have went on fieldwork two times. The first time was an hour drive every day, but I would not take back that experience because it was beneficial to me in multiple ways. The second fieldwork was a little different. I only drove about 15 minutes, but I felt like I got very little out of the experience. The facilty at College of Saint Mary really gets you ready for the fieldwork experience and has one class per semester dedicated to doing so.

I lived on campus for two years and in those two years I never heard of anybody getting caught with drugs on campus. I did have a friend that was caught drinking underage and she received a school MIP. The college is a wet campus, but they continuously check the rooms and make sure that no one that is underage is drinking. The peer pressure at the school is very minimal. If you don't want to do something, then the students are excepting of that.

The process of getting into the occupational therapy major was quite simple. Due to the fact that I attended College of Saint Mary directly after graduation of high school I was admitted into the program without any problems. My high school transcripts and ACT scores were reviewed and I was accepted right away. If you are a transfer student, I have heard my classmates discuss how some of their courses did not transfer so that would be something you would have to look into.

One thing about College of Saint Mary's is he have a MLL program (Mothers Living&Learning) Single mothers live in the dorms (which they just build a brand new building specifically for these particular students) with their children (two max) No matter the age or race you're welcomed and have something in common with everyone since you're all in the same situation. They have a daycare on campus where most of the children attend and they have different programs where the "non-moms" are also apart of, for instance free babysitting.

The crime rate around this area is average. I hadn't heard of anything horrible happening and it's in the middle of the city with middle-class families. I have never felt un-safe. Campus Security in on speed dial on every telephone on campus and they give you the CSM security numbers to put into your phone, they are available 24/7. The students here don't pull pranks that I know of, everyone is respectful and keeps the peace.

The weather here in Omaha changes quickly. It could be raining in the morning and hot in the afternoon. Snows a lot but the heat is not as bad as Texas (where I moved from) I hadn't lived here that long but so far it's been pretty decent.

I LOVE Omaha, it's fast paced. Stores everywhere! Shopping, places to eat, not to mention it's an excellent place to raise a family especially with children. There are parks on every corner! It has a lot to offer with it's booming bushiness with colleges everywhere as well. You have UNO, College of Saint Mary and multiple Community Colleges. There's a place for everyone and everything here in Omaha!

In Omaha, there aren't many quality restaurants here within distance. There are plenty of fast food restaurants around here but not nice restaurants to go in and sit down. There is a variety of food here as well, starting from Mexican, Italian, and etc. Fuddruckers is my favorite restaurant because it has a variety of food there so it's always great to get something different every time I go there.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
