I wish some of the professors were more involved with the students, but I do understand that it may be hard to have a personal relationship with students since the student body has a variety of different ages. However, whenever I've gone to a teacher about concern of a subject or topic that they've taught, they've always been helpful with answering my concerns. Probably the major complaint that I have about the school is the class registration, which is truly a hassle. It's done online, and it can be confusing but it can be super slow.

As of right now, I'm a general education major until I transfer to a four-year college where I can pursue my wanted major of sports and exercise studies. My classes are exactly what I expected. I can't really take any courses that will go towards the major I want to pursue in; however, the courses will help me transfer. I haven't taken any crazy electives that don't go towards my major. All of the course I'm taking this major are related to my general education major which is nice since I don't have to worry about taking the same courses when I transfer. The workload isn't crazy but it's not overwhelming either.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
It took a really long time to process my financial aid. Even then, I was denied the financial aid so I asked if the school gave private loans because it was too late to apply for the scholarship and they said they didn't. This really didn't help because I am currently about to be cut off from my father and there will be no way to pay for my schooling unless I get a lone or win a scholarship.

As I've mentioned before I have only taken classes online so I haven't a clue really how the instructors on campus are. So far my online instructors have mostly been helpful but there have been a few that took two weeks or longer to respond to my messages. The student center is a hard place to try and sit down and study because it has become more of a hang-out for the students rather than a study room. The work can sometimes be an overload but that is to be expected if you really want to learn a lot of material in a semester worth of time. All in all, my experience has been fairly decent so this is why I am rating it a B+

I was scared about doing classes online because I have to hear and see what the teacher is saying to understand. But when I saw how it was it wasn't hard at all. It started and ended really good.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
The staff in Financial Aid are not always the most helpful. I applied for a Direct Plus loan and was approved (advised to do so by their staff) then told COA does not participate with the program.

I do not have enough personal experience at this point in school to fairly evaluate post-grad services.

Sometimes it is difficult to take an online class without the face-to-face interaction of developing relationships with other students in your class. My experience is that my fellow classmates tend not to correspond within discussion formats or contribute to developing online relationships.

Getting Through Prerequisites – taking my prereq's here bc its cheaper, then getting BSN from university

Overwhelming at Times – This is definitely not high school any more. Teachers have a certain amount of information that they have to teach within a certain amount of time. Therefore, you will have a whole lot of work to do in class and out. If you have 3 or more classes, you can bet, you will be spending a lot of time doing your school work. Your grades reflect your desire to succeed.

All Walks of Life – I must admit I was rather shocked when I went to class for my first time. There were foreign exchange students, students that were in their 30s, 40s & 50s. Some, such as myself, are attending college for their first time.

Discipline/Quiet Study Area – I'm sure I'm not the first student to declare that self discipline is an absolute must. The hard part of on-line courses is the fact that you work in your own atmosphere; whereas, in a class room you are "in the zone" so to speak. I have to work on my school work when there is no one home or every one is asleep. This is the only way that I can truly get into my work without any interruption.
The teachers and the resources that are available on-line are phenominal; one just needs to take the time to research their resources.

Health and Wellness – This class seemed easy to begin with, but then the work load started to become tidious. The site itself was easy to navigate and find my assignments. The registration process was a little confusing at first, but then I got used to it. The professor and student relationship was really good. There were plenty of ways to get in touch with my professor and he always responded to my questions in a timely matter. The same goes for interacting with other people in my class.

Academic Experience – My experiences with academics also has been great. Since returning back to school last fall for my Associates in Early Childhood Education I have maintained a 4.0 GPA in each semester so far.The workload is alot but manageable if you set aside time everyday to study and write assignments.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
My experience with financial aid at my college has always been a great experience. Each person that helped me was very informative and helped me to apply for financial aid and explained to me the process. The process was smooth sailing. My education exceeds what I am paying for it. There are great teachers and there is also tutoring available if needed.

Fantastic Advisors – My school has many helpful and concerned advisors that are available to speak with about any and all concerns/questions. I wanted to weigh out the pros and cons of the nursing program that my school has. One of the advisors sat down and walked me through the whole information packet about the program. That really helped with my decision to proceed with the RN program!

I don't go to the campus since I am on-line right now but the couple of times I have visited the campus, the student body appears diverse but I can't go into details.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
